Just got an Xbox One S (my first Xbox) as a birthday gift from the wifey. It even came with a stand to set it on so it is upright like a Playstation. The One S is tiny. Smaller than most hardcover dictionaries. No power block like I've seen on my daughter's boyfriend's Xbox One. It's taken me hours to set this thing up because I've never been a console gamer.
Anyway, does anyone know how I can access my free digital download of Madden 17? I have a redeemable code, but the ONe S is asking for a gift card code which is not the same thing (I tried it).

If you shop around you can get 12 month xbox live cards for significantly cheaper than the $60 they are supposed to cost. They go on sale on Amazon from time to time and I usually watch www.cdkeys.com too. Of course once you get one you have a whole year to catch another sale. edit: Just looked and a 12 month card is $42.99 on the website linked above.

yeah, definately try to buy the 12 months online, most of the time there is no shipping it's a code delivered to your Email.
Difference is pretty notice-able. $59.99 on Xbox + Tax if you purchase w/ Credit Card through Xbox you'll be charged tax, it comes out to $64 and some Change.
I paid $30 for 12 month cards a few months back on NewEgg. I think the Email code ones are back to $50.
Also check some stores like walmart, even though a Vendor controls the prices, often when they shift marketing from one game to another, they pull the XBL Subscription Cards that feature one game/event for the new ones, they usually throw the old ones in the clearance isle.
I found a few 3 month cards for $2.99 and a few 1 year cards for $34.99
I also have a pile of a few trial codes from games to make an account gold and one came with my Xbox 360 I bought to replace my launch console that died a year or so ago..
I've saved alot by not paying MS Directly and just re-newing every year w/ codes.
I've also saved a lot by not having to buy any games thanks to games for gold, lol.

Do I have to be on Xbox Live? I just like to do Madden against the PC where I'm competitive. I'm never competitive against these people out there who spend hours and days playing the game. I play maybe once a month. Also, I like racing Assett Corso which I just picked up. It works great with the Logitech 920 wheel and pedal set and the Wheel Stand Pro. I don't know how anybody plays a racing game/sim with a gamepad. Maybe an arcade racer, but you can't properly control the cars in Assetta Corso unless you have a wheel and pedal set.

No you don't need Gold unless you want to do MP... SP only, then don't bother. And disagree with you about driving with a gamepad... I have no problem with no aids on, it's really how well the game is developed to use the gamepad, Assetto Corso is the worst IMO, but Project Cars and FM6... do it very well. Sure, it will never be as great or smooth as a wheel, but still very do-able. Proof coming, because I'm working on a project about the discussion.

Does Project Cars on Xbox One drive the same as on the PC? I love it on the PC with a wheel and pedals. I"ve never played Forza 6. Is it arcade racing like Forza Horizon 3? I have that one. It's very aracde, though. I just press the gas pedal to the floor for almost the whole race and just steer. It gets boring quickly because it doesn't feel realistic. I was thinking of getting Forza 6 hoping that it is more sim like than Horizon but don't want to waste the money if it isn't sim-like.

Forza Horizon is Forza Art/Assets in a Arcade Environment
Forza Motorsport is Sim-Lite to Sim-Pro depending on setup

Thanks. I'm going to pick up a pre-owned copy of Project Cars from Gamespot tomorrow. It's great playing it on the PC because I play it at 4K resolution with no lag or slow up, but my 1080p tV is much bigger than my 28 inch PC monitor and presents Assetta Corsa very nicely. IT's not as pretty as 4K, but it's pretty enough. Project Cars should look just as good on my TV with the Xbox One S.
