Yes this is nothing special it just reminds me of how much fun we were having back then. I just so happened to bump into Arde=Moosefly= who I knew as Ardese if I remember right from old Warbirds. He only stuck around for a few days unless he switched his handle but that day we were able to catch up smile

The pic kind of reminds me of when the Luftwaffe was resorting to hiding aeroplanes in the forests. 800 X 600 monitor days.

It was a good time Wheels...The most fun I ever had was with D.I.D. Dead IS Dead. That was a fun online war. Josh Freitag Pope Uhoh7 Herr_Spray Willie SR_Aces. I think I'm the only one still hanging in...No Siggi is still here somewhere too. lolol

16 years? Good grief, still 'flying' on the SAS server, just about getting the hang of it.

Still on my hard drive... still good fun after all this time smile
I have all the add-ons etc they put out.
I remember being blown away by 'Forgotten Battles' and then even more so by the 'Ace Expansion Pack' and 'Battle Over Europe'... fantastic times for a flight simmer!

Great memories...thanks.

This place was a great refuge from the Ubi Zoo and a great source of info. I remember UhOh7...flew with him a few times. That was when I was on Hyper Lobby using cast iron S. Louisiana dial-up!

I couldn't fly that well but I warped really well! winkngrin

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet.
I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

Nice screens from memory lane. It was IL2 that got me back into PC sims and games.

My most prized computer game possession!

Still works, I just have to set my date back to the spring of 2001

The whole thing is 375 MB
Today with CUP mod and missions, paint schemes, etc., gathered over 15 years, it weighs in at 70.9 GB

The planes and objects compare well with new stuff out now and if the pop-up distance were fixable there would be no need for any other WWII flightsim.

From WWI to cold war and beyond, Olegs IL2 has it all.

The good old 56k dial up and warp along days. It is amazing how good it actually worked though. The most time I ever spent in MP were the old Hyperlobby days in IL2. Hours upon hours in Dogfight Missions, Coop Missions and Coop Wars. If it wasn't for all the cheating that came along later I might still be there Flying IL2. Even without all of the clickable cockpits and CEM I had tons of fun. Between IL2 and Novalogics' Mig29 Fulcrum and being in the Fulcrum Squad I am surprised I stayed married for 13 years with all of the hours I spent flying in them. Good memories for sure. Cup is top notch and I still spend quite a few hours in SP to this day. biggrin
