I changed my FW190 cockpit to some newer items. I was flying on night and the simpeds right side quit working.
So I had to fix the issue, once I was into it I decided to replace the Tremac joystick. It was getting worn and neede to be retired. It gave great service all these years and I wanted to keep it as a display.

With help of this forum I rewired the simped to connect to the Leo Bodner's 0836A controller. I received Baur's K13 joystick and handle, after talking with him, he did not use a controller, just the leads so I could connect to the 0835A. Then VO10MMaister posted that his friend from Hungary, was making a K13 grip, which I contacted him and bought. After awhile we got it sorted out and I received it. So I used Baur's base unit and the new K13 grip.

I connected it all to the 0836a as a single source. Now I have in the cockpit the new unit with 4 buttons and throttle. Also there are 3 trim pots and two switched, gear and flaps all connected to the controller. I use a n52 for all the other control needs for the flight functions.

There are a few other small things to do to the cockpit, fill in the hole and cleanup.

Thanks to all, and to this forum.

S-190,

I've been trying to figure out your throttle. Is that a 360 degree hall pot you're using? Does its stem just roll along the curvature below it? Does it suffer any slippage?

Terrific pit. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Flying Colander

Sorry this has taking me so long, I had to reformat and lost my access to this site, then I had trouble signing in then had to join as another member.

I use a 270 degree pot, had it friction at first, but since than went to two gears that move the pot in the 270 degrees swipe.

The old friction worked well for many years, no slippage, I just went to another design after fibbing some workable gears.

I started out using the Check Six planes, but found them to be really not to scale. They were too narrow in the cockpit width. I widened it some, but not enough. When I was in Florida, later, I went and measured a real FW190 at White 1. I found out that I was about 2" short on my width.

The cockpit is still comfortable to set in and fly. I have been using it for over 14 years.
