Not too many sailing games out there. At least not reasonably realistic ones with terrific graphics. wink

Part three. Who doesn't love the age of sail?

Love it. I haven't logged in in awhile to see what has been going on. I'm looking forward to this being released!

Yeah, I think there's a map reset and update coming at the end of the month. Something to check out.

I do wish they'd made a proper singleplayer game though. Online only games have to make so many gameplay concessions...

I really want to get this. So gorgeous. I just don't know what will be there for a guy who mainly plays single player.

Same here. I wish it was single player if only to have the option to go in the sailing mode that we have for combat at any time - just to train or enjoy the relaxing experience. I used to play the Sea Dogs/Pirates of the Caribbean/Age of Pirates series and I really enjoyed sailing out of ports in real time.
The other thing that worries me with multiplayer is the drift towards constant ganking for anyone not willing to be part of a major guild/group of players in the same style as EVE or Pirates of the Burning Sea - unfortunately a lot of players from the latter seem to be the most vocal group on NA forums, so I'm not very optimistic there.

Yup, people are both the best and worst thing about multiplayer...

I would absolutely like to have a single player version of this game (with the option to sail the entire map in real time if I want to). The accelerated time and battle instances ruined the experience for me, although you can certainly get some beautiful screenshots fromt he game.

While I don't mind some co-op every now and again I'm a real singleplayer sort of guy, there's been a lot of games I've been interested in getting the online/multiplay only treatment lately, or largely forgetting the offline experience.
Seems the online/PVP crowd yells loudest...

You're right, you can certainly get some beauties out of Naval Action. smile

Hugely enjoy this game even in pre-alpha. This and Space Engineers are my best pre-release purchases imo.

Added some effects to this in post as I thought it looked so damn artistic to begin with.

Ever forward!

I want this game but MP only was a bad decision IMO. MP games have a short shelf life and at $54.00 CAD for EA I will wait for a 50% off sale before buying. I do have it on my wishlist though.
