Yeah, yeah, I know I should do the walk of shame but I finally got caught up with the show by watching the season 6 finale last night.

I can't wait for season 7 next summer!!

Those last two episodes were pretty damned epic.

Oh yeah. It's some of the best TV I've ever watched. I'll keep it spoiler free though in case there are others on SimHQ who are still catching up. smile

I have a problem with Amazon and their video service (they are stupid!) so I'm stuck with the BluRays. Only up to S5 so far.

I watched the entire show via HBO On Demand and it worked great.

There are 13 episodes left to end the series, divided in 2 seasons. I hope there are a couple of 2 hour episodes there, but I think it is because they are ramping the budget pretty high on the remaining episodes.

There is a rumor of a movie set in Robert's rebellion or another past events (like in the glory days of Valeria) is in early development to show between the last 2 seasons.

Ah, so it's 13 now? The last time I read about it I thought the producers mentioned that seasons 7 and 8 would each have 7 episodes.

Bit expensive to move to the US just to finish the show wink

I thought Martin wanted the series's finale to be a big budget cinema movie?

Oh wow, I didn't realize that HBO On Demand was not available in Europe? That's ridiculous.

Ice Cold in Alex or Eating in ...
It's not just HBO it's SyFy channel too and all the other TV channels that have an on demand service via the internet, the channels are geo locked and you can only watch the programs in the country you live in, it was a pain waiting for The Expanse to be released on to Bluray so I could watch it.

At least Amazon.co.uk lets me watch videos/series' that I have purchased in different locations.

For some weird reason "HBO Now" which seems to be needed only is sold trough special participating internet providers.

As usual with TV, global availability isn't. And then they wonder why people rip stuff for free.

Amazon wanted my passport details to "verify age" despite that they sent me two 18+ rated games in the last year. They all make it really, really complicated to just watch the damn videos.

I believe that's the reason:

I got HBO GO and other On Demand services to run in Europe.

...by VPNing into my US computer and streaming it through there.

As you probably guessed, the lag rendered this good idea into a bad one.

That's OK. When I'm in Europe I really ought to not be watching TV anyway!

I figure I will be able to watch it about ten years after the series has ended. By then it will probably be on something I can afford.
