VFA-41 Black Aces remain onstation in the Baltic Sea and continue to fly missions in defense of the Baltic States following an invasion by Russian forces.
NATO ground forces, including Estonian self-defense forces and the U.S. 82nd Airborne are engaged in fierce fighting with Russian forces around the capital, Tallinn.
Troop ships carrying the U.S. 1st Armored Division entered the Baltic Sea and have reached port in Lithuania. In the most recent engagement, the Black Aces succeeded in a mission to protect the NATO troop ships from air attack while they are unloading the troops and equipment. Now that the U.S. 1st Armored Division has safely unloaded its equipment, it will begin the push across Latvia and Estonia.Until the ships have unloaded the troops and equipment, they remain vulnerable to attack by Russian aircraft.
