I'd like to simply assume that you must be talking about "Steel Beasts Pro PE" 4.0 ... but there are other "4.0" games around, so it may be a bit preposterous to treat that as a foregone conclusion.

I was wondering the same thing ssnake... if SB Pro PE v4.0

I would select one main battle tank, say the American M1A1, do the range... a lot... till you get good at it, till you don't miss... simple... start the range, F2 for gun sight, N to zoom gun site in and out, right mouse click on target to range, keeping the sight moving with target via the mouse, space bar to fire, P key to reset the sight, INS when they say SABOT, DEL key when they say HEAT fight after you've shot the last round.

repeat... over and over till your good.

THEN... do a simple, platoon size mission, my favorite for beginners is "A little Taste of Combat", forgot the maker, sorry... you can find it in a search at www.steelbeasts.com download files...

with that mission, F5 for map view, right click unit and divide, right click one half to ENGAGE towards the town, right click one half and ENGAGE them on the out skirt of town to ambush the coming re-enforcements.

At this time also use the trigger 1 to drop the mine field.

now just jump to each tank as you see fit, usually the town attackers first to gun some targets, jump to the other units to ambush the re-enforcements... great fun, play with it... and it will come to you.

THEN spread your wings with other missions, harder missions, other MBT's or vehicles.

Good huntin.

imo

IMHO the best way is get to know (no need to "master them!)the basics by doing a few tutorials and a shooting range.
Then join online games with other as soon as possible!
You'll find people willing to help you at many places:
http://www.kanium.eu/ (english and danish)
http://www.steelbeasts.org/content.php (german)
http://dogsofwarvu.com/ (english)

and many others:
http://www.steelbeasts.com/online_play.html/

At the different team speak channels you'll also get help to set up for online games, fixing connection problemns and how to set up teamspeak.

Hope to see you on the virtual battle field soon!!
