...but I didn't want to pull the trigger on one until I talked to you guys.

I'm currently running a PS3 for console gaming needs, and it's okay, but the point of diminishing returns is approaching. Games run way better on my Alienware Alpha, but there are some games that are going to be console-only that I might be interested in. And so far, I'm not terribly impressed with the PS4. The Xbox One has the HALO series remastered going for it (which my son is very interested in). What clinched it for me was the release of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. It was so absolutely dreadful and so patently obvious that more emphasis was placed on the console versions.

What I like about the Xbox One Slim is that the new controllers are now apparently vanilla Bluetooth. I think this means I can pair it with my Alienware's integrated Bluetooth and use that controller on my Steam games when I'm not using it on the console, but I'd like some clarification on that. I'm curious as to which PC games would use an Xbox One controller natively, or if I'm better off sticking with a 360 controller.

Next, I know that whatever I get, my G27 wheel won't work on either one. I'm okay with losing that. I'm not about to spend good money on a new wheel, especially since Forza is coming to PC. I used to race Gran Turismo 6, but the lack of a damage model just grated on my last nerve. It made multiplayer pretty much useless as crowds turn into demolition derbies. I hadn't planned on using a console for racing anymore, anyway. I'll go straight PC for that itch.

I also know that the only way I can keep my PS3 library of games I've downloaded from Sony is if I never upgrade ever again. Let's hope my PS3 never dies...

I'm looking specifically at some of the upcoming games I'm interested in like GR: Wildlands and wondering if I'm better off with a console than a PC for some games given how bad the PC version of The Division was (it featured absolutely no anti-cheat measures).

So, what are your experiences? Moreover, given how much MS plans to blend PC and console gaming, should I just kinda wait?

if you want a XB1, IMO, wait for the next one after this slim... more powerful, more PCish. Other then that, based on your past comments here... your not console material. (meaning you expect to much... with console, their are sacrifices.) wink

"You can't handle it..." LOL. Thanks, Mag. You keep me honest.

The only 'sacrifice' I feel like I'd be making is the loss of NCAA football. That's really going to suck. If I want to play football now, it's Madden or nothing, and I despise professional football. I preferred the NCAA version because of the school marching bands and the respective stadiums of each team. NCAA 11 was my favorite of all time.

I like PCs, but nothing, NOTHING has the ease of use like the console.

I think what Magnum Meant is:

Next Fall MS Will Announce the Release date for Xbox One : Project Scorpio

This will be a New Xbox One Console, capable of playing all Xbox One games, Xbox 360 BWC Games, as well as playing "Scorpio" Games.

Primary Features of XBO:Scorpio and Scorpio Games was it would be VR Capable (ie Fall out 4 VR, Elder Scrolls VR, GTAV VR, etc etc).

GPU Power is of the 5 TFLOPs Variety, meaning the console is likely packing a RX-480 Equivalent GPU and a rumored to have a newer Zen Processor.

It'll be more "PC-esque", But it will still be an Xbox One Console.

I have one eye. I have absolutely zero interest in VR. It'd likely make me throw up or give me a hell of a migraine.

EA made that sacrifice for you when they quit producing NCAA a couple of years ago. I'm holding out hope they find a way to make it again. It must have been worthwhile for them to release a new one every year.

I saw that article, too, Mag. It's encouraging, but I'm not expecting much.

I'm pretty sure I'll end up with one, only question is when. Since VR is not an issue for me, Project Scorpio isn't really something I'm interested in. Seems like a lot of extra money to wait for something I'll never use.

In other news, my Alienware went on the fritz last night. Got the five Yellow Flashing Lights of Death. Did a power drain several times, reset the CMOS battery and it finally coughed to life after half an hour of trying. Not very happy with Dell's quality. I figure if this dies, I'll go with an ASUS ROG tower.

Hey, if they bring it back, that would be phenomenal. That's a release date purchase for me.

Last I checked w/ a friend in the know,

it'll cost them too much, NCAA is stupid picky when it comes to players and team logo's.

For real... players get suspended for signing autographs and credit card receipts.

Yikes. That's nuts, but I guess it's what they have to do.
