Yep. Must-watch for me. Surely, Tom Hanks is one of the greatest actors of the past 20 or so years.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

I pretty much have to see anything Hanks does. They aren't always great but they are always worth watching. The Green Mile, and Forest Gump are two of my all time favorites.

Some nice flashbacks to Sully's USAF career flying the the F-4 would be really cool too!

How are they going to make a 2 hour movie out of an incident that took less than 2 minutes to unfold?

Hanks is a good actor but this seems like a sellout

Neither of these sentences make sense.

My thoughts exactly. It's going to be filled with a load of 'fluff'. As much as I enjoy Hanks, nothing could persuade me to watch this.

Oh, I don't know, maybe the movie covers more than just the takeoff, ditching, and rescue? I'd imagine there'll be quite a lot of time given over to investigations, boards of inquiry, press conferences, etc.

How did they make a whole movie about 30 Seconds Over Tokyo?

Well yes, they have to flesh it out somewhat.I guess I'm just a cynical old b*astard when it comes to the overwhelming dross that Hollywood puts out.

In the case of thirty seconds over tokyo they are dealing with a combat mission filled with action that was unusual from its very beginnings

in the case of the hudson river dual engine failure we have a run of the mill airline flight that took off into a flock of birds and got steered into a river by a skilled (and lucky) pilot seconds after takeoff

it just seems like it would be better as 1 hour biography piece

If the movie were titled "Flight 1549" you'd be right, but it's apparently not just about that flight but about the man who was in command of it thus "Sully", and his story involves events both leading up to and after flight 1549.

I will say though that it seems this film shares a lot of the same stylistic and narrative aspects as the film "Flight" with Denzel Washington.

I like the bit where he teams up with Mike Wazowski and they scare children.

TV Monsters! Or that's why my son called that one. Must've watched it with him 100 times and that was alright with me. Great movie.
