Head out to Special Aircraft Service forum and read on Community Universal Patch: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.phpYou're gonna spend a whole day on downloading and setting up this mammoth of a mod compilation, but it's worth it (plus quite idiot-proof if You just follow installation procedure closely). Lots of PTO/CBI content in there.

You can get your feet wet by adding an aircraft or two to you VP modpack install. Why not give that a try? When you get more comfortable with it, then you can look at CUP.
I have had CUP, HSFX, DBW and all of the modpacks. Right now I have a vanilla 4.13 install and a VP modpack install.

Thanks Art. I'm not quite sure what's compatible with what, and what isn't needed when something else is already installed, but judging by the SAS site it seems that they suggest trial and error, i.e. download and see if it works or interferes. That's why I suggested going for the whole C.U.P mod (WAW or "World at War" package to be more precise) - to avoid dealing with individual mods, trials/errors and whatnot. Sure, it will install a bunch of maps and planes You're totally not interested in, but at least I know it works from the get go. On the other hand, You can have as many Il-2 installs as You wish to test various mod compilations so You're not losing anything apart from some time and disk space.
