Rationale:
In 140 and later there are multiplayer settings in the host's "eaw.ini" file, which the game uses.
These settings are passed on to the other players.
The DirSetPicker can access files that change them by reading scripts and modifying the "eaw.ini"
In the panel on the right I have selected the "ETO-352nd" folder, and the "Groundstart Intercept.txt" file.
By selecting that file my "eaw.ini" is modified.
The data in that file reads
PlaneSetNumber=6
Year=2
MissionType=3
Target=97
FriendlyPrimaryHB=79
FriendlySecondaryHB=79
EnemyPrimaryHB=104
EnemySecondaryHB=104
FriendlySecondaryPL=11
EnemyPrimaryPL=27
EnemySecondaryPL=28These scripts can be used by the host to automatically set these 10 values for the multiplayer game. The players can still choose their own aircraft, but only the host can modify the settings listed.
Here is the mission parameters screen I got with that script loaded
The reason for the patch is that the previous scripts were referencing the wrong planeset. The latest release only has planeset 6, as it has all the individual P51D skins for the 352nd. Earlier scripts were referencing planeset 1 which no longer exists.
Once people become familiar with these scripts, and their use, they can begin to make their own using the "MPU2016.exe" program. I will make a tutorial in this thread
