Yeah the free games selection has really been poor lately... I went ahead and bought a 12 month card at the current price before it goes up.

Yeah same here, to be honest I think they are going to lose a lot of Plus subscribers.
The only reason I kept Plus was the free games and online for Destiny, but the free games have sucked for the last 6 months or more, just crappy indy games.
Now that they made it more expensive while providing no improved value, I will probably just switch to playing online stuff on XB1 and not renew my Plus subscription.

If anyone sees any 1 year deals before the price hike, let me know.

If anyone sees any 1 year deals before the price hike, let me know. 2 weeks ago (the day the price increase was announced), I picked up a 12 month digital code from SaugaGamers for $37.89 using promo code SLICK, $43.99 is their usual price. http://www.saugagamers.com/product/playstation-plus-12-month-subscription-card-digital-deliveryThey got a bit swarmed due to the announcement so it took a couple of days for the code to arrive, but I've bought from them two years in a row now and no issues.

I remember when PS Users used to mock and ridicule Xbox Users for Paying $50 for Xbox Live.....

Yeah I think it goes in cycles and both sides like to make money.
For a while PS Plus gave some great free games while XBOX Live kept giving terrible ones... now the cycle has switched to XBOX Live giving the better free games, and now Sony decided to raise prices while not offering any additional value so they are piling on at a bad time.
I'd guess Microsoft is going to wait and see if Sony's move pays off and then follow suit.
