A patch seems to have been deployed for Cliffs of Dover. This patch seems to disable the TF mods and compatibility...
I'm a crappy pilot, but one hell of a shot.

I can confirm that the download broke CoD and I cannot get it to work again even after a reinstall. Don't know what's going on. ATAG site is also down.

Only DLL and executable were updated in vanilla version, so simple reinstall of a latest TF mod (no need to install them all) should do the trick.
this is what i found on the Steam forum..

I thought the new patch adressed Win 8/10 compatibility but not so OK so I think I will try to install the TF patches again and see if it works. No need for all you say, which should I install then?

Well if this new patch was to fix the non-starting issue with Win 8/10 it has failed. My vanilla CLoD still won't run.

ATAG still don't work for me but I got info from BoS forum and Steam. The patch is now in beta availability so get out of beta test and let it download again and reinstall TF MOD.

This seems to be the fix:
Go into steam app. right click on CloD and choose properties. Open "beta version" tab or what its called in english Choose not to participate in beta program. Validate local files and it should restore the game then reinstall TF MODS .
I would suggest that you backup your conf.ini and confuser.ini files before validating files and installing TF patchescas you may have to remap all your controls again? Files can be found in your MyDocuments/1CSoftClub folder. Copy them somewhere, do the above and then replace the files.
One guy on Facebook replied after reading the above:
"Luckily I think if you have chosen not to participate in betas before the patch is downloaded it will still download the patch but doesn't install it.
That is what is seems to have done on mine. I paused the downoad, set updates to "only when I launch the game", opted out in the Betas tab and then launched the game.
The patch still downloaded but doesn't appear to have done anything. I can launch the game and got into a server OK.
I haven't gone for a flight yet as I have a new stick/rudder combo and need to remap everything."

ATAG_Lewis posted:
Hows this?
1) Back up your game folder in the STEAM folder on your hard drive...Keep it somewhere else on your PC until you know you have configured this update successfully.. 2) Copy your 'confUser' and your 'user' files from your game folder in '1C Softclub'....paste them somewhere for safe keeping again until you know this update has been configured successfully.. 3) Start STEAM 4) STEAM will download the update....At the bottom you should see a downloading bar filling.... 5) Once it has downloaded.....Click on LIBRARY....then..Click on GAMES 6) Right click 'IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover' 7) Click Properties 8) You now have a new tab at the end of the tabs called 'BETAS'...Click on BETAS 9) Select the beta you would like to opt into:....SELECT......NONE-Opt out of all beta programs 10) Close STEAM (and reboot PC) 11) Start your game to test that the update has not been installed....Game should run as usual
