I was browsing through some old campaigns and saw a link to Tonester's Land of EAW, and clicked on it. It's still up!

Went there and looked around,,I do believe I had that years ago,,,I see some of the screen shots and they don't look bad and maybe I should try some night missions. At least the price is right for a try.,,,Heading to media fire,

As Usual lost here,,,Unzip this into a 1.50 working install??

rwatson, Nachtjager was the first big project I was invited to participate in, after I had made a couple of skins and started modding the Meteor. So, it has a special place in my heart! There are two exes in the download (it self installs) DEAW is the one for flying during the day.

As an aside, I created a new sound file for the Meteor, using the sound of a real Whittle engine being started, then brought up to operational speed.

Give it a go, it was meant to be fun with a lot of "what if" aircraft!

Russ this is 150 so planes and theatres are separate. The download is for the Nachtjaeger theatre only. Run it in the "UAW150V3" folder.

In the screenies I posted I was flying SPAW planes, using these selections:

I could have selected ETO planes.

Later today I will convert the Nachtjaeger aircraft so they can be used in 150 smile

The 'planes are done but the UHU FM needs tweaking so I have not done an upload until more testing has been done.

Thanks for the conversions Jel.

If anyone wants to try the original 1.2 version, it's available here (along with a lot of other campaigns):

http://www.sandbagger.uk.com/home2.html

You'll need a clean install of 1. before loading...

Cheers!

I downloaded the 18 files from Sandbagger's
When the batch file ran it gave errors in both W10 and Vista.
I think that the operating systems were too fast and the installer file that is built up in 18 stages had not been closed before the next bit was to be added.
So I made 18 individual batch files - one for every step.
I ran them one by one and created an installer that worked smile

Once I had installed it I copied the installation folder into my "1.28c" folder, and made a "dir.set" file to run it.
That has worked well.

The only problem is that there are no skin files for the vampire (MOSQ slot). This was the case with a previous 1.28c set-up, and the reason why I re-downloaded the stuff.

The only Vampire skin I have is Ade's Korean version, but it does not have an appropriate cockpit.

There is a "NachtjaegerPlanes.exe" 7-zip at MediaFire in the 150 folder.
Run it in the UAW150V3 folder.
In addition to installing the planes and the planeset it gives you the two latest versions of the eaw.exe, and fixes the bug that Crashin' Jack reported.

I have added the mainscreen and the hangar screens from the original installation, up-sized to 1024x768. In the skins I included Ade's Vampire skin as a "make-do".
The planeset to use is "32-Nachtjaeger"

wink

No Vampire but here's a hi-res Meteor -
http://www.sandbagger.uk.com/rotton50/2011/Meteor/meteor.zip

And an Ar234 -
http://www.sandbagger.uk.com/rotton50/AR234B.zip

In fact, I'm not sure how you would do it but a lot of the planes in "The General's War" would fit this scenario. For the most part they are better models.

There are several bugs in some aircraft files which I have been fixing.
The DH Vampire was a real mess. It was in the MOSQ slot, with no skin, so in the original if you select it you fly a Moquito, twin engined and propellors as opposed to a single engined jet.
So I have deleted it from the planeset.
In other cases the original was using default skins, so there were no skins to convert.
I have corrected about 20 "VCG.dat" files which were the smaller old type.

You would like me to take a quick look at the Vampire?

???

There was no Vampire in the original set. There is one on my page at Sandbagger's, but the skin is Egyptian from 1953:

http://www.sandbagger.uk.com/crashinjack.html

The Nachtjager was also released as a complete, single file self installer. Don't know why it's not at Sandbaggers, but MarkEAW has it here:

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/0e8990vqszo0n/EAW#pssbizx78m452

If I recall correctly, none of the skins for flyable planes were default skins, so they should be included as well.

Lastly, the vcg files were mostly custom as well, so the originals should be modded to the newer standard. I made a new set:

This is the 1.01 install I downloaded running in 1.28c:

Of course as it is in the Mosquito slot the Vampire would not be selectable to fly in the old style menu, but it does have a hangar screen and a flight model, and it could be selected as an AI aircraft.

Sorry Ray- I was not sure that the question was for me or CJ.
We have a Vampire skin, but you may have a better one.

The main problem is the FM. In Nachtjaeger it is almost certainly still a Mosquito FM. I have tried a couple of others, but with one of these if you press Alt-N to get to the next waypoint, or even respawn, there is a strong chance that your engine will be smoking due to serious overheating issues. With the other the top and cruising speeds are nothing like what they should be. Increasing them produces uncontrolled overheating.

My previous post was to confirm that the Vampire was partially included in the 1.01 release.

wink
