These popup ads make SimHQ unusable and look terrible on Android tablets.
We've reported this problem for months and months and no response.
Sad that SimHQ is now just an ad serving ghost ship with no fixes and no enhancements, just a few of us long time poster ghosts feeding the ad servers and search engines.
This site is getting left behind by technology like USENET comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.flight-sim did...

Yep it's sad.
I bet we could start another SimHQ forum somewhere else (i.e. reddit) where we could have some people at the wheel actively growing the SimHQ community, and the current owner of this site (who never reads the forum) wouldn't even notice until the ad serving income goes down from the reduced ad hits.

Well, don't be surprised if many don't follow. There are lots of people who are very wary of 'web giants' who don't care about the 'little guy'. Look at the giant mess going on in Twitter right now. Make no mistake, we middle age males, with our "warmongering games", would be EXTREMELY vulnerable at a web giant.
Yes, this place is not real perfect right now. A few of us moderators will be contacting the authorities to see if we can bring this place up to par.
POLITICS, WAR, ECONOMY, CONTROVERSY! and other heated discussions and debates in the PWEC sub-forum at the bottom of this forum main page. See you there!

Thanks Rick Many of us love the community here and don't mind ads to help support it (I previously left ads on and I donated every year too). But for the last year or more some of the ads here have been so bad on some platforms, that it's impossible to use the site due to the ads popping up every second in front of the post or the reply box. I normally use the site from PC where I have some options for blocking the bad ones, but when I was on vac away from the PC and having to use my tablet and posted the OP, it was a reminder just how bad it's gotten and how frustrating it is, and it doesn't seem like the person in charge cares, which means slow death for this place we all love.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

Yes, it's terribly annoying on my tablet, where I do most of my browsing. I'm fine with all other ads, it's just that banner that's infuriating. Can't see what I'm typing, have to close the ad or try to scroll to that 1cm where I can see, which doesn't work well with a touchscreen, bring the keyboard back up, start typing just to have the ad pop up AGAIN. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
