I have focused on world war 2 this summer (and especially Easy company,2nd battalion,506 PIR,101st airborne divison).

So far I have finished the following:

David Webster's account of his life in the army back then. Not half bad but not as good as I had expected it to be.

Don Malarkey's memoir.Liked it quite a bit.

Band of brothers.Need I say anything about this classic?

Major Dick Winters' memoir.I did not regret buying it.

I regretted buying this one though.Avoid it and stick to the previous one.

Another classic.Not bad at all.

This is as good as the previous one from the same author of course.

Have bought but still have to read these:

Stupidity is invincible.

Superb book. A dramatised (not fiction) history of Alaska. All the way from prehistoric to modern day.
It took me a week but it was worth it.

I read all twelve of the Arisen series and the two prequels. I love military books and I love zombie books, mix the two and you get a fantastic series that are some of the best books I have ever read. Just couldn't put them down and needed to see what was going to happen next.

Webster wrote his memoir in the last 50's and early 60's before it was popular to do so. In fact it was actually more common for vets to not talk about their experiences during the war at the time. IIRC he disappeared at sea not too long after he finished the book and long before it was published.
