Any takers? At $60 + $30 for the game and dlc season pass it better be good. I'm ok with $60 if it's as good as Human Revolution was, but dayum, another $30?
There are some previews of the first mission on youtube, but I'm not sure if I want the spoilers.
I like the idea of Deus Ex but I've always had a hard time getting into it. I always seem to get not much farther than when he gets his apartment and it just hasn't clicked for me. So I know I've barely scratched the surface but does it pick up at some point? Is it just me or does the gampeplay kind of start slow? Do I just need to be more patient?

To me, it was slow due to running around the city, which was too empty. Progression with powers and the very little ammo you could carry were the limiting factors. Seems like I read a while back this one wouldn't be so slow, likewise with the power batteries etc too, but maybe I dreamed that. I want the ability to use stealth, but more action would be good. And a hell of a lot more ammo capacity.
Wow cool this is definitely on my radar... I really liked Human Revolution, just the level bosses were a pain to beat... I heard the later directors cut toned them down or something, maybe I will revisit it before buying the new one.
I really like Deus Ex (even the new one) but I'll probably wait until a sale. $90 is way too much to spend on a game when I can get the exact same thing for $40 on sale a few months later.
Scully: Victim died of multiple stab wounds. Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?

If you're an Amazon Prime member, you get 20% off of the price up to 2 weeks after launch. $48 isn't bad if it's as good as the last one. From my previous experience with amazon digital pre-orders, the key comes to you a few hours after it opens up on Steam, so don't expect it the minute it's available. FYI- the refund for the 20% off is usually a couple of days after, so it would likely still be $60 the day of launch.
Dammit... so itching to pull the trigger (pun intended!!) on this one, but have already blown my gaming budget this month.... and if I'm not getting it on day one, then might as well wait a few more months and buy it on sale. Might install Deus Ex:HR to keep me busy.
For those interested, 25% discount on greenmangaming.
If you don't want to go back, you can just watch the 15min story background recap video they put in the new game and posted on YouTube now too in 2 parts:
