Well, the first picture is of the avionics bay of a TSR2, so hopefully you were at Warton or Filton where they are finally being put into serial production.

Bingo! (on both).I hadn't been there for over 20 years.Took my mum (aviation nut)-she loved it.She had been before a few times, the last time they were still building the new hanger.

My photos are very poor, camera is an Olympus C-750 Ultrazoom.I always use 'auto' (that sums up my total camera experience, i.e noob) and I don't know how to make them any better. Most of the indoor shots were poor.I'm not even going to post them up.My dad was the photographer in our family.Mind you if he was alive today and I showed him a digital camera,he would most likely throw it in the bin.He did it the old school way, even had his own 'dark room'.

Lol @ Mikew smile

Did you observe progress on the Dornier Chucky?
What did you think of the Cold War section? One of the most innovative displays of aviation history to my mind.

The Dornier? Damn it,never thought to seek her out banghead In fact I didn't realise she was there.I certainly didn't see any reference to it.

The Cold War section was indeed quite brilliant.None of us had seen this before,in the new building that is.

Mum got a little teary-eyed when she saw their Fairchild Argos on display. That was the first aircraft she ever flew in,when she was in the ATC,aged 14 I think. Her pilot was none other than Freydis Charland, one of the 'Spitfire Women',sadly recently passed away. And yes,she made sure she sat in the front.

In fact mum flew her first solo from Cosford, after acquiring her GPL.Even at the age of 81,yesterday she was like a child in a sweet shop, she loved it.Actually so was I smile

Sorry Chucks; it is not on display at the moment it seems due to the current stage of preservation:

Just seen this post Chucky. Re the Dornier, as you come out of the first hanger where the TSR2 is, look right. There are, erm, rather larger hoardings in yellow and black with a Dornier painted on them. Go into there and I think the greenhouses are still spraying the wreck.

I'm pretty surprised I missed it but I am planning on going back in October for Flight Sim 2016.
