Mum got a little teary-eyed when she saw their Fairchild Argos on display.That was the first aircraft she ever flew in,when she was in the ATC,aged 14 I think.Her pilot was none other than Freydis Charland,one of the 'Spitfire Women',sadly recently passed away.And yes,she made sure she sat in the front.
In fact mum flew her first solo from Cosford,after acquiring her GPL.Even at the age of 81,yesterday she was like a child in a sweet shop,she loved it.Actually so was I
