Scifi fans are about to be floored. I'm a huge Babylon 5 fan and consider it the best scifi ever on tv. Jerry was a very beloved actor of a beloved character. He was like the Bruce Willis of Babylon 5. Even looked like him, similar sense of humor.
Just 60 apparently, I don't think they know what happened.
I had just looked him up on FB a few days ago, can't remember why. He had a post on there just 19 hours ago, so I assume this was something sudden.
Mighty young.

RIP

I read about this just like 2 hours ago on Claudia Christian's FB page. I'm really saddened by his untimely death.

Babylon 5 premiered on TV 27 years after ST:TOS did and yet the B5 cast has had more people who passed away.

Jeff Conaway
Andreas Katsulas
Richard Biggs
Michael O'Hare
and now Jerry Doyle.

I'd forgotten about Michael. Did he make it past 60? None of the others did. Certainly not Richard.

O'Hare was 60 when he died.

My wife just told me about this. He was one of my favorites on B5, right after G'Kar. I had always hoped that they would make some more B5 movies, but now there are too many key actors that aren't with us anymore. RIP Jerry.

Much, much, too young, he was only 3 weeks younger than me.

Rest in the light Mr Garibaldi.

PM, you missed Tim Choate (Zathras), only 49, back in 2004.

This is very sad. He was one of the best characters, and for the latter seasons you were never quite sure whose side he was on.

I was listing just the main cast members but yeah, it's very sad what happened to Tim Choate. If we include supporting actors who were on B5 there are several of those who have died as well.

I was never a huge Babylon 5 fan, but Garibaldi was one of my favorite characters.

RIP Mr. Doyle

Garibaldi was my favorite character. I always hated the end psyop stuff that kind of ruined his character.

RIP Mr Doyle.

To each their own of course but I thought Bester's manipulation of Garibaldi throughout season 4 made a fantastic character arc for him.

Then the following season he played mole and took on Efrem Zimbalist, which was also quite entertaining.

The show did do his character justice with a happy ending.
60 is just far too young to go. 60 is the new 40.

I wouldn't go that far but I'd definitely say 60 is the new 50. smile

Well, here's how I look at it (age 48 and 11 months)...

I'm currently wrapping up reliving my late teenage years (not perfectly, but much improved this time). band

I'm going to use my 50's to relive my 20's and 30's (combined) the way I *should* have lived them in the late-1980's and 90's (mainly as a better husband). Then for my 60's I'll relive/live my 40's and 50's (combined), and at some point I should catch up with my real age. old_simmer

Wife doesn't get me completely, but she does have a positive outlook on aging (even after the breast lump scare) and that's all I can ask for.

The Indian chief in "Dances With Wolves" just died at 97, if only we can make it that far, that would now put us at just about the half-way point.

++++++++++

I didn't know of Jerry Doyle nor of the show, but RIP. Waaay too young.
