In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

Quitters.
WOFF will never end!
Least for me anyway...hehe.
Plus, I have a hope, of what a highly skilled modder or two can do.
Seen what someone, with programming skill, can do for a old sim.
SH3 is a prime example.
Besides its too hot in Malaysia.

Winder mentioned something about a WOFF UE (Ultimate Edition?) so we may have yet more to come. Plus Polovski said there would still be add-ons in the future. Add to that some great mods from our very talented community and I'd say WOFF has a much brighter future than most sims.

Let's not forget that there's already so much packed into the single player campaign and so many different planes to try out that I doubt anyone could see and master it all in under a decade.

The future is VR. So what about VR for WOFF?

Duke, yes SH3 is a fine example of what a few very talented folks can do.

I play SH3 and have tried SH4 but go back to "3" and gave up on "5".

Some of the new guys are very talented and could help out in so many ways. Not me for sure!
But I can send $$ and give support where ever I can.

Time will tell, but I think the whole VR on the PC is going to vanish like what we did see on the 3D. The mobile market is in my perspective the only market were this could be succesful.

I really don't think so Dutch. I agree that VR will make it maintstream via its mobile implementation, but I'm also pretty certain at that point that it's not going to vanish on PC. It goes way beyond what 3D was. For flight sims it's pretty obvious that it is way more of a revolution than things like trackIR - I never thought trackIR would survive and work that well yet here it still is. In comparison, VR does not only offer perfect head tracking, it immerses you ina a 1:1 reproduction of a cockpit and the world around it. I can't go back monitor simming (and in effect I haven't for almost 2 years now, first with DK2 and now with Vive) and my friends who made the same step can't go back either - some thought VR was a gimmick but when they tried they changed their mind instantly.
