the mass inertia actually makes using the front guns quite a bit difficult, you need to have lined up a shot seconds beforehand or your gonna miss.. but it kind of makes the Pe2 so much fun, that the flightmodel feels very real, you sense the mass.. and it tumbles and spins and bounces on landing very similar to those Pe2 in historic footage, if you´re not carefull. And at the same time it is a very pleasant and docile aircraft and very straight forward and uncomplicated in operations. And it even looks great.

Most of the time, picking a fight with fighters isn´t very wise, but the Pe2 has it´s moments and you can see in BoS why it was adopted as ad-hoc nightfighter and the long range Pe3. It´s not really very good in those roles, but when there isn´t anything else that can go there, it goes where those short legged fighters can´t.

together with the P-40, I-16, Fw190 and Mc202 it really is one of the best sides of BoS

Saw that you landed with only one engine in the first video. Can you steer the aircraft on the ground by using the brakes if you only have one engine?

on rollout yes.. but once stopped you can´t taxi anymore, just circles. THe groundphysics are kind of weird in that. So no one-engine takeoffs, so far.

Here is another Pe2 run with Tailmange:

In that case, it was a huge chunk luck, that the distance I fell off from the aimpoint fittet so well to where the planes actually where.
