I have edited this post as it was the first one in this thread. All of the original text and pictures have been replaced. The information in the other posts in this thread is way out of date, and should be ignored other than for historical purposes.
150 has been superseded by 160. Use this link to the 160 multiplayer set-uphttps://www.mediafire.com/folder/6tb6c8hka9vts/160MultiplayerYou do not have to play multiplayer with it, but it gives a good range of aircraft and theatres in a single installation. No CD is needed. There is a file manager included which was written in Visual Basic. You may need to install the Visual Basic runtime files. The two downloads are both 7-zip self-installers. "160MPInstall.exe" gives you a complete "160MP" folder. It contains my "eaw.ini" file which you may need to modify or replace to suit your system. "Runtimes.exe" gives you a "Runtimes" folder which contains a "setup.exe". This file needs to be run to install the runtimes files. It is not an EAW installation. You will know if you need to install the runtimes files if you get an "OCX missing" error when you run "PSM160GRV2.exe" to select the theatre, planeset and eaw.exe that you want to try first. Jel

Jel will come along any time now to hash out the Ship Strike CTD problem. I can't help with that one.
There are many settings to make the game easier. Go to the game setup page and poke around a bit, you'll find what you need in there.
As for the Flying Tigers scenario, unfortunately it was never finished.
However, with the introduction of EAW 1.5 you can build you own set of planes from the hundred's that are available.
So to get something with the flavor of The Flying Tigers you would probably pick SPAW as the scenario but then make a custom set of planes rather than picking one of the premade sets.
You could have a few different P-40's up against Zeros, Oscars, Kates and Bettys.
In fact, you could also mix in a P-26, P-35 and P-36 which were used in the CBI theater too. You can find suitable models of these in the Malta folder. The beauty of 1.5 is that they can be "ported" over to the SPAW scenario with no trouble at all.
As long as you didn't use the carriers as bases you would definitely feel "oriental" with appropriate hangar screens and such.
Download the whole kit and kaboodle. It's pretty straight forward but we'll be here to help if you get stuck.
Oh and congrats for getting the next generation into flight sims. We're all getting a bit long in the tooth around here so it's good to have some young blood.
Heck, even paranoids have enemies.

Thanks Ray, and I'll have to double-check the CTD as I'm sure Jel will want the specific model I used I don't want to go too far afield on this thread, but I could use some help on adding new planes- I read your and Jel's explanation, so I think I can add a new custom planeset- but how do I add a new skin? That's what I'm confused on. Speaking of skins, and going waaay far afield now, I got the picpac tutorial years ago and tried my hand at some skins for the Suez Crisis- with the Med map and the custom planesets, I may dust off my dream of a 1956 campaign (or at least some missions).

Hi Shadow Yes, please let me know which combination gave you the CTD. I need to list some suitable ship strike missions. Players need an aircraft which has a torpedo loadout, and to select the right target, and target type. I know which ones work and host ship strike missions online, but now that EAW150 is gaining momentum more people will need help with things like this I also need to upload "MogProg" to MediaFire. It is a little program that switches slots for aircraft skins, and if you select "lane" as the "plane code" it converts the old skins to 150 format.

I sent you a message at the Gen telling you that the new GUI exe is in your folder Look for "PSM150.exe" What you do not see is an invisible grid with the full pathnames to the folders referenced. You only see the grid with the folder name. However, when you select a planeset a routine reads the full path of the first folder referenced in FM column of the invisible grid. The PSM150.exe then checks that there is a "plname.str" file in the folder If so, it reads the "plname.str" file, and displays the aircraft name in the list that you see. Then it moves to the next folder referenced, and so on until the whole set has been listed

Hi Tony,
So what exactly do I need to download to run 160 single player - I have not been watching this for a couple of months and am as ever confused, but thought I would give it a try.
Cheers
Pete

Thanks - thought MP was for multi-player which did not sound right when playing solo offline
