In case you havent heard yet, Apex will be out soon. It will also be a required item to play on the SHQ server, we wont use its stuff right away (unless everyone currently on the server has it) but will eventually use it regularly (say after a couple of weeks, unless again, everyone allready has it).

Now is a great time to buy it as its -20% off during the steam summer sale!

We'll also be putting together some sessions where groups of 4 can get together to play through the new COOP campaign.

No reason not to get it. It's the future. Map makers are gonna make use of it's assets going forward.

I bought it and have been playing using the beta/preview option.

One thing I was curious about is whether we are able to join the SHQ server now using that version or whether we need to downgrade to join SHQ server?

I've wanted to test that by joining the SHQ server ahead of time to make sure I'm ready to join the SHQ events sometime, but I haven't seen anyone on TS to get the password from.

So if no one has tested that yet, if someone PMs me the password I can test and report back.

you have to switch to the stable branch to play on the server, as thats what it runs. Otherwise you just get kicked or experience some serious buggyness smile

Ah thanks Meatshield, I will just plan to switch back when I go to join you guys sometime, unless it releases first and the server is updated.

A bump and reminder: Apex pre-release 20% discount will end in 4 days (July 11th)!

I bought it already. After my prolonged absence I discovered I really still enjoyed it on my return.

That and the promise of a coop campaign (that hopefully works better than the stock Arma 3 coop one that got stuck at the first "open world" mission with busted triggers for me) sold me on Apex.

I'll be buying it tonight. Valve got quite a bit of money from me for this Summer Sale. biggrin

And something else to keep in mind for Apex owners... The release date of July 11th is Monday!

While we won't be using the Apex content this coming Military Monday, the download from Steam will probably happen anyway. So start your Steam clients early, and don't get caught with a huge download right at game-time.

So, will we be using our Mod pack and Apex assets this upcoming Monday 7/18?

Yes, Gin has the Apex expansion. I wanted to play the COOP on Thursday, but I have another multi-player activity that night. frown

I've got a killer mission ready for Monday, so just go get APEX if you haven't yet so we can play it this week.

I think all the new missions tonight are on Tanoa, so if you haven't bought it yet, go get it.

And get it early because it's BIG unless you have fast broadband.
