Loved the original, not doing KS on this one, but will definitely be interested in it once it's out if it's good.

I played the second one when it released on GoG. It was fun but I really don't see a reason to reboot it.

The second one is very playable from GOG/Steam just using texture mods since the controls were already the norm for a FPS (WASD+mouse) and it supports modern resolutions.
The first one had a much more primitive UI and control scheme (arrow keys for movement, PGUP/PGDOWN and F-keys for HUDs), not surprising since it was one of the very first FPSes and every game was inventing their own way at the time until WASD became the common approach, but because of that and the resolutions, it's really awkward to play these days.
The main thing I'm looking forward to the reboot is updated controls and UI and resolutions, and maybe the textures.
The story and atmosphere was great so hopefully they won't need to change anything there.

I liked SS1, very much. It had mouseaim, with keyboard view direction and movement controls, with crouch, prone and standing, at a time when that was completely unheard of.
The elevator musak was a welcome change of pace at the end of each region, (I hesitate to say level, as you often had to return to complete additional tasks in previously visited areas), but the in game music and audiologs were very atmospheric.
A completely different experience to DOOM, but sadly one that only got niche following.
It has been playable on modern machines for some time as SS Portable, but the new models are much nicer in the reboot. Whether they'll be able to capture all of the best bits of the gameplay is debatable, and the demo definitely benefits from large increases in mouse sensitivity - the defaults are sluggish. The original is now fairly difficult to play with suspension of disbelief, because of the mix of psuedo complex map geometry with acceptable textures (which still looks compelling IMO) and downright ugly sprites which 'float' unconvincingly... but I did manage to play through recently, which is more than I can say for Wolfenstein or DOOM1/2.
SS2 was a very different game style, and is still comfortable to play on modern systems with some modding for texture and model replacement.
