CJ,

Mine is exactly the same in the controls section.

Check the remappable key section. Maybe there are two functions mapped to the same key.

Yeah, I checked that also. Same reaction in 1.29, 140 and the new one as well....

Ok the newer plane maker thingy works well. Chose a MS406 and a Wellington. Selected the MS 406 in single, got a ctd as soon as the cockpit appeared.

There is also a "MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS.txt" file installed which reads:

Task #1
Go to the "Aircraft_Inventory" folder
Cut "Planes_ETO"
Paste it into the root folder

Task #2
Go back to the "Aircraft_Inventory" folder
Delete the "Planes_24BitTest" folder.
The one put into the root folder by this patch has a more user friendly structure

Task #3
The "Malta140_Planes" folder has "DAW" and "Malta" folders in both the "FMs" and "Skins" subfolders.
Delete any that are not "DAW"
The Malta ones are re-installed by the patch in a "Original Malta Planes" folder.

Task #4
Do a search for "weapons.dat" and "weapons.str" files.
The only pair you need are in "savedata"
Delete all the others as they are incompatible and cause CDTs.
I forgot to delete a few from the theatre folders in the first place.

If you prefer to be cautious then copy your "140PSM" folder, name the copy as "UAW150" and run the patch in that folder smile

Did you complete Task #4?

Yep, found a stray. CTD's gone.

When you get a chance please edit the SPAW weapons.str file and remove the words "blank line".

Also, in passing I've seen a few loadout errors. For instance the P-35 has both a 250 lb bomb and a 220 KG bomb. Might be something I missed during set up. I will fix what I can and send you the new files.

However, there is another problem. The 3dz for the 220 KG is way too large. I think there are a few other ones that are off. I'll take a close look at them and see if I can fix them too.

Jel, check the GEN for the 1.5 bug fix topic.

I simply refuse to use this public forum for our discussions as I'm completely disgusted with the responses we're getting from uniformed members.

So because of the Freedom of information, here is the post he wants hidden.

Quote:
So here we go.

There are problems with the weapons and the loadouts in SPAW.

First I noticed that the para racks were not located in the same position under the wings.

As this could be either a loadout problem or a 3dz hardpoint problem the first thing I did was copy the A20G wings from DAW, which are correct, over to the A20G in SPAW. (As an aside, this is a perfect example of how easy it is to move things around in the new system. No slot renaming needed, just copy / paste the files and you're all set.)

I had set up a planeset of just the A20G from DAW and SPAW so I could easily compare them. ( Again, dead simple for checking out conflicts of this nature )

Anyhow, this did not fix the problem meaning that there's something off in the loadout of the new SPAW. It's actually worse that that because there are certain loadouts in the SPAW A20G that are carrying two weapons on the same hardpoint at the same time.

I'm not worried, we'll get it all sorted but it does point out that those of us who support this system need to take a good, detailed look at it.

Next up I found that the parabombs are dropping like bombs again. We had this problem before and it's back. The parabombs as originally configured drop like drop tanks so that they sail back behind the plane. I know some work was done recently on cargo drops so maybe something crept back into the code that we already solved.

Also, I see a few new SPAW FM's, like

SPAW_B5N25(Torpedo)_FM
BillsAvenger (Torpedo)_FM
NewFT-A6M2-N Rufe_FM
NewFT-E13_A Jake_FM
NewFT-F1M1 Pete_FM
PBY-5 Catalina (USN)_FM
Axis_Catalina_FM

I have no objection to these additions, in fact I'm glad to see them as it means someone else is keeping things fresh. However I would like to know what they are.

Lastly for now, while testing the two A20G's I experienced CTD's in single mission mode but not in instance mission mode. I seemed to have solved it by adding an enemy plane. If that turns out to be true it would be a good thing to add a warning about that somewhere on the selection planeset maker screen.

I'm not going to bother testing any more SPAW planes for now since the loadout problem probably infects all of them to one extent or another.

So I will thoroughly check the Med planes for now.

Try PM's if you want secrecy.

Don't know why he would want to hide that. Sounds ligit as far as testing and feedback to Jel.

So what if there are problems on the way to a polished finish, no big deal Rotton.
Your just doing what we all do, offer feedback, good or bad, in this cases it was tested and found errors, so what.

No need for the drama.

First of all you have no right re-posting my comments from the private forum. It is in bad form and you need to apologize.

Publicly.

Secondly, the post actually provides a perfect example of how a group can work together to overcome problems as they arise.

Notice there is no rancor or hurt feelings nor any "I told you so's". Just a statement of problems found and a comment that we will find and fix the problems.

Thirdly, I don't want secrecy. I want to stop arguments based on misinformation and the best way to do so is to work in the comfort of the private forum where we only have to deal with YOU since you are the only coder who continues these ridiculous attacks.

Folks, these one sided attacks have to stop.

If this action by John doesn't convince you that he is the problem then I don't think anything will and in that case, I fear for the future of the Old Lady.

I think EAW will be fine in the future. You guys are doing a good job on the game in the direction you want to combine your efforts.

Just have to get that source code out to a hardware expert now to tweak her up a bit.

Mark, it won't be fine if the few remaining dedicated modders get tired of the BS.

And in the meantime the normal users get shut out..Sometimes we like to see the progress you men are making and do get to test a bit.But I'm not a modder so.The simple way is just to ignore posts you find offensive ain't hard to do.I ignore people I consider fools everyday.

You wouldn't get shut out if one guy would just stop being an as*hole.

It's all well and good to say we should ignore posts, however, when those post contain incorrect information it becomes necessary to correct them and that's when the thread goes down the toilet.

In addition, let me ask you, how would you feel if you were constantly hounded by another member of the community? How long do you think you'd ignore it?

As it is, until things get on an even keel I will not be posting technical comments here.

I grasp where you are coming from. How would I feel?? Guess I'm even tempered when some one talks crap,,,I'd ignore it and move on .I'm of an age where I don't get upset over someone else's bad behavior. From my spot in the trench the constant sniping will wreck this forum rather than what some fool says. But in the mean time I'll just enjoy the work you modders do.I can separate facts from fiction and know what seems to work and use what I can.You guys are doing great now and hope you will keep at it.
Right now I've got to redo the PSP install,,, I screwed the pooch somehow on the update and missing this and that when I fly but fly I will!!!

See, we still have a problem.

You and others keep referring to constant sniping as if there were two sides taking potshots at each others' work.

How many times do I have to point out that the attacks, false accusations, divisiveness and other "crap" emanate from one source?

You want peace?

You want to read our development discussions for the pure enjoyment of watching the sausage get made?

You want to reap the benefits of our efforts?

You want unlimited tech help to get up and running with the latest and greatest EAW?

Get rid of the source of the divisiveness.

OK Ray I take your point,Never said I thought the fighting was one sided, Actually I can't get rid of any body. That's up to the mods. But I am entitled to express my opinion. All I can do is support the ones who create.I'll leave this thing alone.
