Hauksbee, that pump just pressurized the tank initially. Once the engine started the engine-driven air pump continuously pressurized the tank. On the model above, you can see it jutting up vertically behind the last cylinder. What a pilot of Mercedes-engine airplanes did have to do was turn the water pump greaser handle every ten minutes during a flight. You never see that modeled in flight sims.
