To get myself going again, I am doing a new cockpit for the Hs-129. So far I have completed the Gauge Set:

These are all custom made in Photoshop. All are compared to images of real, correct gauges to the best of my research ability. Really liking how this is turning out !

Cheers

Yeah, they are at this point. What is the process for turning this into a usable format for 3dz studio?

Hi CJ.

Just use as a 512x512 PCX, and map as a 256x256 PCX. You'll soon see what I mean.

Nothing more to worry about. wink

Cj, when it's finished shoot me a copy so I can add it to the three HS129's that are in the Mediterranean pack.

Thanks.

After 4 days of mucking around, I FINALLY got my cockpit to load in 1.29. Took a while to figure out that because I have Windows 10, and the converter doesn't work in 64 bit I have to pass the 3dz file to an older computer via drop box, convert, apply the RSC, reconvert and ship it back.So here is the current result, mostly a confirmation I am processing correctly:

Yeah, that's it so far. There is also a handful of gauges on the left engine but the cockpit side needs to be modded to see them.

Looks like a lot of standard Luft gauges there.

To add a bit of realism to the cockpit try adding glass. It gets rid of the feeling of flying with no canopy.

The glazed cockpit was added to this model, but no pit builders added it. Give it a try,

I just love this comment on the HS 129 cockpit.

Quote:
The surviving cockpit section is in a garage about five houses from my place. As to building a replica, the cockpit section itself was manufactured from steel about 12mm thick. Been told by George Tischler that Henschel used boilermakers and locomotive makers to manufacture the cockpit.

Henschel made these too!

So yes it's possible they did use Boilermakers.

And here is one for CJ

Nice! thumbsup

But the rest of it?

Hard to believe there are not enough bits to reconstruct at least one example. frown

Rest is being painstakingly restored as a cockpit section. wink
