The software and Aircraft Repository is available, and it is really worth a try That way you have you personal version of the EAW set-up I wanted a mission in the La-7 so I made a planeset with 4 planes: The skin lines can be blank, but the FMs cannot so I started by putting a dummy FM in the first slot and clicking "Fill blanks" to fill the entire column. Then I put the four skins in and the appropriate FMs. Finally I saved it in ETO as planeset7. I was able to fly with no problem. After a successful intercept in the La-7 I tested the 190A-8: Please contact me if you want the material to enable you to do this Jel

Getting there.
We still need a graphic divider under slot 15 to delineate the opposing forces. And text to that effect.
We still need some kind of marker to display bomber / attack / fighter. Especially for bomber to avoid CTD's. What about different colored text?
Obviously you'd have to pick up the info from the plane.dat file. Would that be too hard to do?
If so, maybe the folder names should include the text.
Alternately, I've broken up the skin and FM folders in a couple of different ways and uploaded them to the GEN. You could go look at them and see if either of those concepts is the way to go.
The last one is a biggy and once again all I am going to say is meant constructively.
First, I'm uncomfortable discussing this here as it leaves us open to the naysayers and I'd like to avoid them for obvious reasons.
Anyhow, I'm pretty confused what to do after selecting the planes. In fact, I'm sitting here with a full set picked out but I can't figure the next step.
This part hasn't changed since the earlier version of the program so don't point me back to those instructions. They weren't clear to me as to how to finish this process. Can you imagine a newbie?
The point is that this process should be invisible to the user. The set making and placing in a folder needs to be a lot simpler.
Asking a user to name a folder is OK but that's about it. The whole Pdir/FMdir needs to happen behind the scenes.
I'm not sure how to go about that but as it stands now I can tell you there will a lot of hands thrown in the air and guys just walking away.
That said, if we can come up with a way to make this a see through operation we SHOULD be able to put a real dent in the whining about the complexities of this system.
Also, as an aside, it's a pleasure working with you on this.
Heck, even paranoids have enemies.

I just had a thought about a possibility and tried it. It worked This is a re-load of the files I made and flew with It worked because I put the dummy FM files in "savedata". So when the exe looked for the files for the 5th to the 30th slot it found them in "savedata". The "dummy" planes are not flyable, they are neither US, UK or German, so they are never used. This avoided the "Can't find plane.dat" errors. I will keep tabs on this but I suspect that the "flt" file I used does not generate the "mixed flightmodels" CTD, as I had previously made a four plane set with Ralf's ETO planes which I used with SPAW Ill get back to your other issues after a bit more testing. What would be great is to get the exe to load the "PDir.set" and "FMDir.set" files from the root folder. Then a player could save them there and fly with the default settings. I just noticed a fault in the editor. I added the top row to the small grid so it only displays Slot00 to Slot28. Easily fixed

Once I am happy with it I will send you the two exes the DummyFM files and the "NoDragStab" file. The SPAW folder I used was a copy of the "SPAW140" folder re-named as "SPAWTheatre" As the planesets vary between the original and the online versions the target data files are in the planeset folders, so I copied those in Planeset1 (which are your originals) and pasted them into the "common" folder. Then I deleted all of the planeset folders, and made new empty ones Planeset1...Planeset7. I put the "NoDragStab" file in the theatre folder. Its presence stops the "Mixed flightmodels" error from occurring. This error can be caused by the DummyFM files in "savedata" if they are of a different type to the real ones. They are not used so there is no problem. With the utility so far I have made two planesets, and navigated to the Planeset1 and Planeset2 folders to save them. The previous screenies were from Planeset2. Coordinate checkbox:If it is checked then when you change skins directories the FM one tries to follow. If I turn it on and want to use the "Planes_ETO" I can get as far as this: Now I would need to uncheck it to navigate to the skins folders and the FMs folders independently. Something I have not yet mentioned: If you fill a blank slot in error and want to erase the content then right click in it

Ray there is a "RayPack.exe" 7-zip on the server in your folder. Run it in the 140 folder in which you are testing the "Flexible PSMake r2016V6b" program. It will put the "SPAWTheatre" folder in your folder It will put the two new exes in you "EAW Versions" folder. It will put the "SPAWTheatre" file in you "LongDirSets" folder. It will put the DummyFM files in your "savedata" folder. To fly select either of the "V90a" exes, "SPAWTheatre" as the DirSet, and either Planeset1 or Planeset2. Planeset3-7 are still empty, and you can use them to save the "PDir.set" and "FMDir.set" files you create as part of your learning process. My "Aircraft_Inventory" folder has these sub-folders: My Planeset1 files referenced "Korea_Planes", but Planeset2 referenced "RAYsPLANES" In case you need my exact folders I will 7-zip these two and put a file named "RPKorea.exe" in your folder. Run it in the "Aircraft_Inventory" folder. It should be there shortly Edit: It is there now
