That's bad
We were talking about it yesterday but these are the first pictures I've seen of it.
It was heavy, heavy, rain here yesterday and our garden was under water for a little while as it could not soak away fast enough. My sis-in-law was here complaining about her toilet and that the water had started to back up through it, other friends had their cellars flooded, I'm glad I re-positioned the vents for mine last year as we had a little flooding then.
It is the people that took over our last house I'm wondering about, as the drains back up badly there, I've seen the water coming out of the sink drain like a fountain. I put in a relief drain to let the water empty at the back of the garden and anything "solid" would be far enough away from the house not to be a health hazard until I could clean it away.
2 years ago the waterboard dug up the old sewers and put in new ones but they still get flooding coming back up out the drains, it is a problem of being on flat ground, there is no real slope to give a natural drainage.
The water table here at this house is about 12m below ground level so normally we don't flood but my wife's old house which is less than 1km away the water table is less than a meter and it can flood badly.
