Yep, another:

This beach is one where I often camped in the seventies/eighties. “If you go in swimming at 10 o’clock at night, you’re going to get consumed.”

"You'll never take me alive" said he,
And his ghost may be heard if you pass by that billabong
"Who'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me?"

Seen that on the news here Max.
...and you warned us about the 'crocs' in Oz, just a little while back.

Too bad everyone isn't as 'aware' as you are.

We had a kid here find some way to get into a gorilla's cage, and they had to kill the animal.
Too bad they didn't do a "prisoner swap", for his parents, who should have been paying better attention to their son. Idiots.

Not a lot of silver backs left in the world, unlike the croc's in Oz....and we have plenty of ignorant, careless, parents around here, obviously......

Maybe it's for the best.....I hate to see intelligent animals in cages.
I'm sure they hate being there much more.
I doubt the parents would have minded being taken care of in the cage.
Yep, should have traded places for the young kid, maybe he would have grown up a little smarter than his parents.

Not the first thing that crosses my mind at 10pm at night ANYWHERE in Australia...to go for a swim in the sea, lake, river or any other water way not chlorinated and surrounded by a 100 foot electric fence!

Daintree, the perfect place to commit murder... And blame it on Doug the Crocodile.

Tragic, but "the beach is known to be popular with crocodiles..." That's what the report says.
I would have assumed best is to stay away or avoid having a late night swim, no?

We used to refer to that as "break dancing in a minefield".

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

All this is true unfortunately. A pity such a nice lady paid such a price for her stupidity. There are plenty of feral wastes of space I would rather have seen midnight swimming with the crocs.
