Does anybody else fly as a back seat gunner in WOFF? Obviously the pilot has to be flying AI (Ctrl+Shift+A). I have been flying a DH4 (WOFF3) but have not come across any opposition yet. I did get shot down a couple of times flying a German aircraft from the back ...
If this works I would like to start a DiD 'gunner' series. See who lasts the longest ...

Great idea Jim. I'd propose a hardcore DiD challenge. Something along these lines:
1. Player can start from either of these 2 time periods. a. British or German observer: July 1915 to December 1916 b. British or German observer: April 1917 to Armistice
2. Autopilot from start to landing
3. No time compression. However, can choose to fly any type of mission even if close or far.
4. No switching to pilot seat for any reason, even if plane is out of control.
5. Any player death, then start from beginning of challenge OR get deducted 100 points (or equivalent to put player into negative or close to negative numbers) and start from day after date of death.
6. Point system award for confirmed kills and successful landing.

In the DH4 of 55 Sqn I have managed to do 9 DiD sorties and 11.47 hours using a lot of time compression over the friendly side. But there doesn't seem to be much opposition - none in fact. I am using medium air activity. We seem to cross the lines at 14000 ft.
I do occasionally swap to the pilot seat for a look around, but don't really need to as I am flying at 'C' using TAC.

Some crazy things happening with the pilots - maybe because I had WOFF on my C and D drive - but now after deleting the WOFF on my D drive and reinstalling WOFF on the C drive because it didn't work, now my pilot/observer in the DH4 is now resurrected!
I/we now have 11 sorties and 14.3 hours but still not an enemy in sight. Flying from Boisdingheim June 1918. I wonder if any of the settings would help, like setting my pilot to a veteran and mucking about with the rear gun accuracy?
I notice that all my pilots are (Rookie)s even those that have been promoted and have 50+ hours. Surely the rookie bit should change with experience?

No problems pol, this new install on the C drive is working fine now. Maybe I will change air activity to high in order to get some action (which means being shot down mostly) but I want to get some practice as a gunner and see how it goes. After all, quite a few Bristol Fighter observers became aces in their own right - they must have been good shots!
