Now that VBH has posted a public link to the FXExe download in the forum I am curious if people have tried it.
There are some interesting features, so credit to VBH's hard work wink

Had it working and I saw the main screen, but as soon as I tried to fly a mission, I got a Pic Wrong Res, and CTD.

Tried to restart the FXexe, and I now get 7217. frown

Tried 800x600 but the same result.

Now, I don't have a clean 1.2 install, which might be why it will not run?

The FXEXE does NOT allow ANY .SP'T or .TER files in the rootfolder. Nor can it use 512 or 24 bit textures without a .LDR change.
3DZ models and their .TPC's won't generally cause any issues but may look out of place in the addon, after all it's been created as a standalone package to enhance our online flying experience, not for upgrading existing addons. Airfield 3DZ's must be replaced by the one's in the addon.

Although it is possible to add the FXEXE to addons, it requires specialist knowledge about the changes needed to keep the FXEXE working. The book on that subject is still under revision and depends on the problems I've encountered whilst updating Pacific Tide III with the addon. It's therefore advised to ONLY install the addon over a full clean version of EAW. After that's working people can try adding their own 3DZ objects if they like but I can't guarantee proper functionallity for models which were not created along the standard guidelines.

FXEXE also works great over the top of a 1.26E install, Windows 10 2 GTX 760 in SLI mode, with nGlide
to get fog, no windower.

The terrain is called EuroBlend and has been available through Sandbagger's for about a decade now, smile.
Can't remember it's creator but if you know I'll credit him in the ReadMe untill we switch again.

Paul Wilson, I think, or a revamp of one of his. Can't see the exact one, but I dare say our archivist will spot the right one.

From my research and what VBH said I think it was compiled by Shawn "SagginB" Griffin.

I seem to have only v1 and v3 of this terrain archive.

Hi Mike.

I'm sure, Shawn is a lurker around here, as not long ago he made a new 512x512 bmp terrain for us. As we all know lots of people lurk, and surface when you least expect them. wink

The FXEXE has white caps in the water, I'm not sure if that was part of the terrain or VBH added that effect afterwards separate from the tile itself.

Here's a description I have for the Terrain. The v1 and v3 where the only version made as far as I know.

Euro-Blend Hi-Rez Terrain:
by Shawn "SagginB" Griffin.
Take only the best features of a variety of terrains and you have the stunning Euro-Blend Terrain. Don't miss this one, this one depicts life to the ground down below. Combining the best features of the EAW default terrain; Jay's CFSI terrain; Paul Wilson's European Summer and Pacific Mainland terrains; GAZ's conversion to EAW of Rowan's "BOB" terrain; and Microprose's "Gunship" terrain; Shawn "SagginB" Griffin has created a terrain which is much more than the sum of its assembled parts. One test flight over Shawn's Euro-Blend terrain will make you a believer. Shawn tells what he set out to do, "The idea was to build a kind of blend of locations...a nice mix of hedge rows, variable fields and some road structure of sorts. I wanted there to suggest life in some way on the terrain...so I also used roads, houses and farms in many areas and even tried to give many houses their own driveways and such...I was after a populated surface look that didn't go with a total endless set of fields and grass. I tried to add tree textures to each tile as well to also give a nice balance to the surface." This terrain will have you believing that just below your aircraft is a world bustling with the daily business of living and also of war. A must download!

Mix it with Slightly Hilly World, and it looks even better.

I have a feeling Dom was doing a mod to get trees to match trees on the tiles, but I don't think he ever finished it.

Some changes were made to my version of Euroblend to adapt the tiles to the FXEXE system, nothing major though.

For those who're interested a small upgrade is available which fixes the additional cruiser's heading in shipping interdictions. The MGO routine is somewhat of an annoyance but I've finally cracked it for the cruiser to sail the same direction as other ships in the convoy. It was the one thing that needed fixing to finish this version of the FXEXE.

The upgrade is here and requires the latest FXEXE version:

Have fun,
