Russ, all you have to do is add the ZIP contents to a working full setup of EAW (any original version and 1.26). Extract the main ZIP first and allow overwrites, then add the 2nd ZIP and allow overwrites too.

This method has been used for a decade and proofed to be the least cumbersome. You don't even have to run the game first but even if you do it should still work.

Addendum,

US or UK version that is. Other language versions will need additional changes.

BTW, nGlide or the D3Dwindower programs are still required with my version if you had to use it before to make it work. Setup will not be any different.

VB I only got one zip file in the download FXEXE_20160313 unzipped it and got a bunch of single files and a save data folder with mission files. In the A.M. I'll get a working setup of 1.2 using nglide and windower ..Tony said that should cure my 7217 error,,And I'll try unzipping the FXEXE download into that.I have 1.40 working sweet and have been flying that I hope I can get thia to work so I can try two installs...Thank you

It is great that people can now include the FXExe as one of their multiple installs wink

If you want to check out VBH's seachlights then do a night bombing mission or an interdiction to Munich smile
I have not been able to destroy any at this stage though smile

Thanks Tony will try to get it in later,,,But does the file consist of one or two zips as VB referred to?? Haven't had much luck with night missions guess I need more training there.Mostly couldn't see enemy planes until too late,,Bombing missions might work better.

Rus the Cruiserfix.zip contains a new exe and can be added afterwards.
This version of the searchlight was placed in a shadowslot, just to add some atmosphere. TMOD**H and TMOD**S can be swapped and will set it destructable. Obviously the other object in the slot can no longer be destroyed then since shadowslots don't have a hitbubble.

One also could make the slot entirely dedicated to the searchlight, like I have done in my own game:

Russ, the cruiserfix is here and I recommend to install it if you don't want the cruisers sailing at a wrong angle to the convoys.

http://rabartel.home.xs4all.nl/CruiserFix.zip

Like all my packages just extract it into your working version and overwrite if it wants to.

For Col G and anyone else who cannot find their old 1.2 installation there is a "640FXexefull" installation of my working FXExe folder here:

Thank you tony BTW I found out if I exxtract and copy FXEXE and your EAW 1.40 over to my flight folder I get the error 803..But when
I extract them directly they work just fine.Never did that before must be something buggered in my reinstall of Win 7..going to grab an external H.D. tomorrow and back good working installs over.I figured out using Daemon tools to mount ISO files seems to change my C to a D drive tested it twice same result.

First of all, releasing standalone and fully working versions of the game are entirely against the agreements we made with Atari.
This agreement may no longer be valid but still I'm holding up to my end of the deal.

Second, people may not get what they've bargained for when they download a version of the FXEXE which is not directly coming from my website. I don't know what 'Hector's intentions are by trying to take over my version of this game, especially since no such action has been requested.

As the creator of this addon I strongly request removal of this download, it's not Hector's creation, and I will definately not support it. I also call upon the moderators to take care of this as it can possibly harm my version of this game.

If you are so concerned VBH then I will remove it but replace it with the CDFs that people need.
There was no intention to take it over, it was just easier to 7-zip my folder, which is all I that I did wink

If you think it's fine to share a full download of EAW be my guest, but stay away from my work. You have no knowledge about it's functionality.

Back to the real topic for this thread smile
I am curious about what users are finding particularly enjoyable as far as flying EAW using the FXExe. So far the only comments seem to have been about getting it running. As I have mentioned before I really like the terrain provided with the download, but in the real sense it is effectively an add-on and not part of the FXExe version of the 'eaw.exe' file, (other than the hard coded terrain file and CDF lists).

wink
