The Dr.I has to be one of the most elegant planes there is.
When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".

How many authentic DR.I's are still in existence? Obviously the ones you see flying in the video are all replicas. as with most ww1 planes, i think the answer is 0. There might still be 1 or 2 static hidden in a museum corner, but i dont recall ever hearing about one.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Good post. Nice seeing them flying together.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

Yeah, I don't think there are any true original aircraft flying, there may be some with an original engine and some other parts but as for a 100 yr. old airplane that hasn't been completely rebuilt and new parts manufactured I wouldn't think so, and most museum aircraft that are original are maintained to prevent further decay but would likely fold up if they tried to fly it. Many of the more rare WWII types are practically rebuilt from the ground up using wreckage and some ID plates which fortunately for them being mostly metal can be reproduced and they aren't completely original but made of several airplanes much of the time.
