If that were true it would be news. Big news even. The sun is not on fire (i.e. the oxidation of a material) but generates heat with nuclear fusion.

So i guess Fox News is as exact and accurate as usual -> meaning it is one of the most ridiculous and wrong "News Agencies". I'm not sure we can blame Fox for this - NASA seems to have started it: Link You see, due to NASA's new overall mission goal of reaching out to Islam, things like "fire on the sun" seem like quite a logical thing to report on.
