Now we know why this challenge took so long. Count me in!

My pilot is ready: Curtis W. Chamberlain, son of August N. Chamberlain and Marie Boulanger Chamberlain. His father, of English and Swedish heritage, and his French Canadian mother raised him up and, when he was of age, sent him east to study at the senior Chamberlain's alma mater, Yale. At the end of his second year Curtis followed the example of many of his classmates and went off to France to offer himself up to the great cause. His ability to speak fluent French along with his physical prowess and quick-mindedness allowed him the opportunity to train as a pilot in the Aéronautique Militaire. Upon his successful completion of flying school he was assigned to the Lafayette Escadrille and the rest - well - the rest remains to be seen.

His N17 has been dressed with his personal livery and is ready and waiting for his first sortie.

Thanks, Olham, I was...wait, did you think that I just found an oddly specific series of comic art panels around the web to usurp?!? So does that inspire you to commit? RTFM

Fullofit, welcome aboard, sir!

Lou, great work as always! Your color palette selections are always top notch!

CCIP
, once you use TrackIR, you'll never look back. pun intended.
but it really is a game changer.

Something else, while I'm here - when Biff Hahvud enlisted, he was shown as a rookie:

but this morning, I see that's not the case:

has he been doing stuff that I don't know about? Also, I've noticed that no one else's profiles list the rookie/veteran thing. did anyone else click on that box when enlisting?

loftyc, I have been so busy with the challenge intro, I haven't even gotten Version 3 yet, that's why it doesn't show for me, I'll pick it up in a couple of days!

Rick, it occurred to me today that, as the French had created a special medal for the American pilots who flew with them in WWI, it would be fitting for this particular challenge to have a similar special medal which would hearken back to that earlier honour.

Rather spiffing, don't you think? smile2

I think that is delightful, good sir! If that doesn't please the boys, nothing will!

Banjoman, I wanted one for a long time but could never figure out how you knew where you were...turns out, when you hold the stylus within a centimeter or so from the surface,a dot pops up on the screen to help you keep your place. It's been very fun. The one I linked in the other post is great and using the free Krita program gets you up and running for much less than $100!

Meet Alistair Cadbury III, scion of the wealthy Cadbury chocolate creme filled egg empire. Father was very displeased when he learned of Alistair's impulsive decision to fight for France. He tempered his anger with the thought that the rigors of war would make Alistair into a fit captain to lead his chocolate empire into the Twentieth century.

Fullofit. I thought about having either a chocolate egg or bunny but even I thought that would be too silly. biggrin

Banjoman, not too long ago we had an alien fly in a challenge. I'm not sure the constructs "too silly" and "Rick Rawlings Challenge" can go together!

lederhosen: I suppose so. (see too silly et al. above)
