Don't know how to proceed ...I installed 1.40 mp and it ran great twice then got then damn error.Installed windower and it still wouldn't run.Tried my 1.28 install and it's got the same disease.Now nothings changed in my setup.1.28 I was flying most of yesterday..Scratching my bald head now as to what else to try.At this point I'll take a break and try later.

What was the error message?

AO the classic"Eaw has stopped working windows is searching for a solution....Wahat's weird is is unzipped Jells1.40 and that ran ok in my downloads folder..Whats strange is 1.28has been running sweet going to work on it some more.I'll try the usual troubleshooting steps and see what falls out.

OK I had EAW's installed to c:\Flight\EAW.. doesn't run there but move them to C:\EAW 1.4 and C:\EAW 1.28 and both have been working flawlessly so I'm happy...This means a lot to me.My mate passed awhile back and when I wake up in the pits I fly to get over the blues.

That is all very strange Russ. It sounds as though the "c:\Flight\EAW...." part of your HDD is corrupted.
Using this thread to respond to Win10 issues which have been raised here and there, Shogun and I have no problem with it. For me it runs EAW better in that I do not need a windower program, which is essential for me with Win 7.
Good framerates, and that is what we use online

Tony I got several other sims on that folder and they run good.But I have running EAW's that's all I wish...When I did try win 10 briefly I found I couldn't run some of my older war titles that I enjoy from time to time.I'm able to run EAW ok in win 7 just a laggy mouse but I can live with it.EA runs ok on Win & just have to ron at 1024x768 to get good framerates.I've been thinking a lot today about biting the bullet or not ..Only big problem I had before was 23 or so temp files showed up on my C:\ and I couldn't delete them.

OK having a horrible day here Got my Win 10 cdthat I burned and going for it I know I got 30 days to roll it back Maybe the updates have improved it ..I got enough stuff that I know run on it ok..Matrix Games titles.Takin' the dive

OK weird stuff but I went ahead and renamed the \Flight folder to \Sims and both EAW installs worked great.So it's twilight Zone stuff.Tried out Win 10 and it ran like crap.Maybe my machine dosen't like it and actually EAW ran jittery so back to Win 7 for good.

Morning Col running nglide d3d gives mr lousy frame rates...Al is running well now.

You need to run in Glide, as it gives the best performance. We have changed to Glide 3, from 2, and it works well on most machines. Go into Config Game, and change from D3D, to Glide.

Yes that's what I'm using the latest glide 3 and it runs very well both 1.28 and Tony's 1.40 mp...My whole problem was the C;\Flight\EAW for a strange reason they wouldn't run Final fix was rename it to C:\Sims\EAW and all run very well.Tried out Win 10 yesterday but it doesn't seem to play nice on my rig so back to win 7 and flying fine.And as I see here EAW is only getting better.

One question nowhere in my config does it say D3D or Glide,in the (Graphics section,,,,I'm using the in game config screen to set it to glide..Just curious to what the ini line looks like

d3d reads as:

TestDrawPrimitive=0
DisplayDevice=2

Glide reads as:

[GRAPHICS]
Width=1920
Height=1080
TestDrawPrimitive=0
DisplayDevice=0


I will check the code but I think that if the DisplayDevice=0 is set you get Glide (if it is possible), but if it is set to =1 or more you get d3d.

Which I was sure was good because I'm using your 1.4MP config Just modified to my native windows res.It's all running sweet as long as I changed the install dir.Having an enjoyable time experimenting with the 1.40 dirset picker.I'm using the lastest nglide and get the 3dfx logo when it starts a mission so all is sweet.Thanks for the help
