Birthplace of the spitfire!!!
been and found 3 engineerers so far,1st one wanted 1000 credits to unlock 1st tier of upgrades to do buisness which then unlocks other tiers of upgrades if you upgrade through them,2nd engineer wanted 1 unit of fish !!?,3rd wanted 3 units of fish!!!???

different engineers seem to offer different upgrades 1st engineer offered upgrades to FSD and powerplant,2nd power distitution and sensors 3rd offered upgrades to lasers and canons

1st tiers seem to be very slight up grades but by the time you get up to 5&6 tier of upgrade seem to be a big upgrade but guess what its going to be a grind to get anywhere near top tier

I think it was inevitable that the engineers upgrades were going to involve grinding as that is the main mechanic of the game.

What are your experiences of interdictions in the beta? A few threads on the official forums say that they are much more frequent and more vicious. My preferred gameplay is quite relaxed and non combat so I am worried that interdictions will become more difficult to avoid and survive.

I got a few messages from Engineers telling me to come see them...but they are all very very far away from where I am (I'm in the "Deep South" of Imperial territory). How do you find new ones?

I read somewhere that the Engineer upgrades are a bit of give & take.
For example let's say you get an upgrade that adds 5% to your shields. Well now the shield module weighs more, or takes more power, or generates more heat, things like that.

Yea, what each Engineer designs is more like a prototype/concept part. It will offer some performance boost in the desired area, but maybe some tradeoffs elsewhere. Each build is hit and miss, but still an overall gain. Sort of like taking your car to a private mechanic to have aftermarket supercharger or turbos bolted on. Outside of any dealership parts or support. No guarantees of the performance or reliability you'll get.

This has been on my mind. I'm doing double time to get my Asp Explorer back to the bubble ahead of 2.1 going live. My Asp outfitting is ultra light weight on everything, for peak jump range. The 3A shield I figure won't be worth much vs. more aggressive AI.

I've been doing some thinking about where I'll make my "landfall". I know a few systems that are largely safe in my past experience. One has a nice, short, 90LS SC flight to the main station there.
