After literally the first eight seconds of that trailer I determined I don't need such murder-porn in my life. I'm not condemning that sort of entertainment for others, and I am fully aware of warfare's realities, and those who know me well know that I'm not exactly a pacifist when it comes to how I would deal with certain areas of the world today. Still, no thanks.

I'm looking forward to it - I like BF series for mad randomnesss. Don't forget how small that lovely looking map will be. Not exactly all of Europe at your fingertips you will hit the wall..
Wings Of War looked great too years ago (WM modded some scenery) but it also had very limited area with force field walls.

BF 1 will be 64 vs 64 players, so it shouldn't be that small.

That Frostbite engine is a beast, running 128 players with those graphics and real time destruction of land and buildings.

Apologies. I have nothing but respect for the Battlefield series and its Frostbite engine. By small, I meant it won't be modeling the entire western front on a single map. It will be a self contained map.

Sure - I enjoy BF series greatly. 128 players will be great - even more random ways to die. Delta Force had huge maps and 128 players many years ago (10-15 years ago!?) - but without the building destruction etc. I remember you could all pile into a heli, and wander around in it whilst it was flying all managed very well by the engine and MP system even back then!

If the maps are bigger great but it will I bet be a few sq miles you are playing in. Not a few 1000 with you free to roam. It is what it is looks great for the relatively small area. Fly outside the city map areas in BF4 and you'll see it is vastly reduced detail.

When we get a few $ million dollars too we'll do some very cool stuff wink

Might be intersting for Woffers

Dynamic plane destruction

Poor plane lost a part of its wing, of course it would be affected.

Some flight basics have to be there of course.
WW1 aircraft is fairly well suited to simplified controls to let you enjoy the dogfight

Just hope the upgrades/power ups aren't too silly.
Swig of whisky as you climb in the cockpit gives your aircraft an extra 10mph
small extendable mechanical hammer to unjam guns or hit the enemy on the head from range
16 wing mounted lewis guns

Seriously though I hope the bonus you earn are realistic (as can be)
Maybe things like added Aldis sights or maybe you get the next aircraft variant up so some historic/realistic improvement.

I'm with Polovski. If they can keep the "power ups" somewhere near reasonable, it could be a lot of fun.

I just wish there was a way we could capitalize on the WWI theme for Battlefield 1 by cross promoting WOFF. Honestly, BF1 will be the biggest budget WWI game promotion in at least 20 years, if not ever. It will be the highest profile a WWI game has had since the Red Baron back in the 90s. With people's WWI game awareness level raised, I wish there was a way we could get their eyes on WOFF. If even only a tiny percentage of them were interested, it would be a nice influx of new players and revenue for OBD.

It is beautiful concept art and I'm sure the Frostbite 2 engine (or whatever version they are up to) will look amazing. What it will lack in historical accuracy and realistic immersion I'm sure will be more than made up for in eye candy and set piece moments of high drama destruction. Just unplug your brain and enjoy it for what it is designed to be. biggrin

I guess we have some piece of fast food cheeseburger piece of software here. Enjoyable, nice and fun from time to time, not healthy for the body but who cares (just today...), easily forgettable of course, but you already knew this all before you entered, didn´t you?

How the times have changed. Up until about BF 3/4 or i would have thrown my money at dice all ready. Not any more.

The terrible drivel that dice consider compelling single player content (that no-one asked for or wanted in a battlefield game) and the recent clusterf**ks of Hardline and battlefront have totally destroyed my faith in them as a company.

Funny thing is the battlefront IP actually demanded a good single player story driven campaign set in the starwars universe, and that was MP only...

I will wait until the gold edition and maybe grab it on a sale, until then NO dice.

Having watched some of the Battlefield 1 live stream multiplayer gameplay, I'd like to offer my 8 word review of the game.

"A visually stunning, historically cringe worthy bunny hopper."
