Don't park it in 'discount' store parking lots. Never next to a pickup. Park wayyyyy away from the door, near a camera. Get a radar detector.....

Yes, I already don't park my Lexus next to pickup trucks.
So you're too good to park next to my pickup truck, huh?-)

I don't go to discount stores.
Maybe....IF....you had shopped at a discount store at some time in your life... ....you'd have enough money to buy a "BRAND NEW"....BMW.

Beautiful car but I couldn't do it. I've dreamed as big at times (not recently) but was talked out of it by the voice of reason. ++++++++++ On a similar note (maybe)... In the late-80's, for about 6 months I drove the company car at least a couple of times a week all around Atlanta, a Porsche 911. Beautiful darker brown early-to-mid 80's model, not a turbo but it had the big fanny with whale tail spoiler, gold BBS wheels, car phone and CD player (big deal at the time). The owner of the company and the car had a suspended license (DUIs, IIRC). He lived by the office so I would pick him up in the company car and then bring him home late afternoon, leaving the car at the office except for the few times he told me to keep it for the weekend. This usually involved something work related like bringing a project (floorplans and schematics) to FedEx at the airport on a Saturday. I would sometimes drive it in for maintenance (not Porsche but they were known for working on exotics) and they would shuttle me back to work and then pick me up later. I would be given a check to cover bills, usually for simple stuff like oil changes and other misc. maintenance (I don't remember). What I do remember was that the bills were outrageous, at least a couple hundred dollars for an oil change and fluids! Everything was super expensive to repair and maintain on that car. Not sure about BMWs but I would think that model would also require expensive maintenance. I'll just keep dreaming about a new MX-5 Miata.

Not to be negative or a downer, but on one of the car forums I visit, one of the guys is a certified BMW mechanic, and he recommends never buying a BMW out of warranty. He said that the recent models are plagued with issues, and all of them are very expensive to fix. The older models, like early 2000s, were much better, he says.
That said, that's a beautiful car, and a while back I considered buying a used coupe of that model that I saw someone selling, but wasn't thrilled with the color so I decided not to spend that much money on something that wasn't closer to what I wanted.

I'll just keep dreaming about a new MX-5 Miata. Oh yeah! RF ftw! I do want a BMW one day, but I'd rather go with a pristine pre-Bangle, unless it's an E46, he did well there. Maybe an E30. Something classic, less luxury. I do like Z3's, especially the coupe, although it didn't do well here sales-wise. For newer, Z4 coupe is a gorgeous car.

While I like the looks of most BMWs, I never did like the shape of the rear end on this model.

I think the eyebrows in the headlights were a concern. Not that I don't like it, just not my taste.

Might check what size of tires it takes. That can get expensive especially if it has a staggered fitment. Doesn't look like it though. Make sure he has his wheel lock if it has a set of locking lug nuts on it as usually those kinds of things can be expensive if you have to get on from the dealer if its missing. You might see if you can find someplace that will check your TPMS sensors for free. Those also can get really expensive if they need replacing. That's about all I know about automobiles.

I've only had one BMW. It was a Z3. It was a 1.9 L with a manual transmission. Not much power, but a very nice balanced and handling car. The color, Montreal Blue, was very nice. Got good gas mileage. Very solid mechanicals. I expect you will be happy with it. Convertibles are the fun ones. My wife found the Z3 a bit too small and the seats not comfortable for long drives. So I sold it to get a Jaguar XK8 convertible. I will probably always have a convertible fun car along with my more utilitarian vehicles.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

Not a fan of the 2 door coupe, love our Jaguar S-Type 4 door though. Body styling I just can`t get over. 4.2 V8 makes it the most powerful car I have ever owned. Its rated top speed is 155mph. Had it up to 115 on some country roads and you could not tell how fast you were going till you at the spedo. I was kinda shocked and let off the gas fast. But if you like the look and mileage is in your taste. Key is pricing. Knowing you drive a Lexus already. You already about the luxury car parts pricing inflation. My Jag is a money pit for sure. But I love it. Need to get some updated photos of it since getting the leather seats redone for $525. They look like brand new now.

When my GF and I went to Sedona we rented a Jeep and fell in love with them. We just picked up this a month ago. Will slowly add new rims and tires. Won't be doing a ton of off roading, but we'll be doing some. But damn this doesn't get the gas mileage of my Camry...

I'd go with a Lexus IS F Sport, but that's just me. Nice car though. I already have a Lexus GS 300 AWD: my 4th Lexus since the 90's, all 4 door sedan. I want a coupe or a convertible or a roadster for a change.
