Not to overstate things, but Leicester City's title run is one of the craziest sports stories in a long, long time.
Simply put, teams of Leicester (that's pronounced "Lester") City's size and financial standing do not win the Premier League. Coming in 4th place in the league would have been an incredible achievement for a team like Leicester, let alone winning the whole thing. And it's made all the more crazy by the fact that last season, Leicester were so bad (until the very end of the season), that they were almost sent back to England's second tier league.1 It's a stupendous, unbelievable turnaround.
Let's put it this way if you had put down a small bet on Leicester to win the title this year, you would be taking home a year's salary:
Last summer, having moved to New York to work for Bloomberg, I missed making my routine bet; the odds being offered on Leicester winning the title were 5,000-1, but, somewhere deep down, I assumed it was 20 pounds ($29) saved. A huge mistake. With three matches to go, Leicester stands seven points clear at the top of the Premier League. If I had bet on Leicester, I would need to keep the ticket in a bank vault: it will be worth 100,000 pounds. I wonder how many people did bet?

Vardy was named the FWA player of the year.
Riyad Mahrez was voted PFA Players' Player of the Season.
N'Golo Kante and captain Wes Morgan made the PFA Team of the Year.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Not a football or betting type of chap myself.
Many Leicester fans though realising the perceived hopelessness of their team's chances punted a minimum bet on of 10 pence out of loyalty. Their forlorn hope and support netted them 500.
Maximum payout at those odds i believe was in the region of 100,000.
But we all relish it when the bookies lose, don't we.
