Two days ago, a Super Puma helicopter crashed on its way back from an oil platform to the airport outside Bergen, on the west coast. 13 people died. A very strange accident, as the entire rotor came off! An eyewitness filmed the rotor coming down after the crash. A chilling sight! Don't know if you can see the video, but here is the link: http://www.tv2.no/v/1039640/
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

That video was surreal, watching the complete rotor blade assembly spinning down on its own. RIP to all those lost.

That is truly a shame.

Friend of mine's 'step son' lives in Norway, travels around the world, manages the building of those oil rigs, he's out of work right now, no new rigs being built, price of oil and all. Lucky for him maybe.
Yeah, really big loss. A lot of very good people, 'gone'.

Condolences to the families.
Super Pumas have been having problems with their transmissions and have been grounded in the UK in the past after some crashes.
There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
