Rotton, there's never been any claim to fame or getting my name in bright lights, as it was called, whoever came up with that idea? I remember who but never mind that. My only goal was to get back into programming and learning C++. EAW was merely the oppertunity to do it. Like everyone else I took pride in what I created, don't you? What I believe is not part of the debate, what is is that it hurt. Trying to turn that fact into a serious case of paranoia goes beyond the call of duty and reflects the previous discussion. BTW, I did only get banned once, after Col. Gibbon started rediculising my pictures which led to me quoting another forum member's reply in one of my threads. It was the same remark I used that got me banned, whereas the other person was allowed the same remark without repercussions.

Hi VB.
It was not only me, who questioned the authenticity of you blip picture, although I did kick off the topic. As nobody has ever seen the model, it was impossible to verify, and you never released anything to speak of to the community.
I've often tried to get that Windmill with turning blades, and it's only recently we made the blades turn, but only by flipping through 4 identical models, with blades in different positions.

Admin note;
Been reading this thread, and watching the progressive decline in posts, 'lately', on this forum. My advice is, people just continue to focus on the sim itself, and stop the back and forth banter between members. BEFORE someone steps over the line, and throws a 'personal insult', which leads to a ban.
And that, I'm afraid, will lead to a decline in the EAW flight sim. It would be, in a sense, "Flight Sim Suicide".
A flight sim which has weathered the storms, for so many years.
I suggest EVERYONE think about what the future holds for all the people who enjoy this flight sim. And stop the bickering now, just end it. No more "personal negative comments", on other peoples activities.
If you can't say something positive, just don't post anything at all. Or keep it about the 'work' and not the member.
It'd be best for "EAW".....and I think we all want that.
Just my personal observations, at this point.

Hi guys, re: Fairey Battle, 1940... Ray's Model The real McCoy... the wings are incorrect and the fuselage is off, and, the greenhouse is too long. The model is workable but to a 'nitt picking' rivet counter, it isn't quite right. Ray, I am not attacking here or taking sides in this discussion, just expressing my own opinion. Mogggs, quite nice. My 1940 stuff is available you know. He111, Ju88A, 109E, 110C, Ju87B, Spit I, Hurricane...just lift the first skin out of a squadron if you like. The proper way to point out an 'opinion' of another persons work. Just sayin'....it can be done, with class. Thank you "Iron Mike", for setting an example of promoting EAW and it's future.....

I was not going to post but this comment is way out of date. The original attempt involved was your hard work, but it is no longer an animation of four models. It is a model in which the sails turn because they have a set of TMod properties that makes the turning code kick in when they are in view. It is a novelty in any case, but getting it to work taught me a little bit more about programming

OK...if everyone is done clearing the air, we can get back to EAW.
As CyBerkut has stated, I have no 'side'. The post I cited simply was close to mine, and seemed to be a good 'civil' response, to use as an example. I simply wish a peaceful forum, that everyone can enjoy.
I'm done here, this is "Sandbaggers" forum, he is the moderator, if he has any problems, I'm fairly certain he can use this as a fresh 'starting point'. The door is closed.
I do hope 'everyone' understands that.
Please continue....

Ok by me and no hard feelings. Thanks for the input.

Hi Mike,
I seem to remember Airfix getting the same criticism when they released their Battle kit millenia ago - apparently they had used a drawing provided by Fairey that was not of the Battle as finally produced. As a retired rivet counter I agree it could be improved a little but it is certainly a lot better than nothing. As Boilerplate used to say "it is only a game".
Pete
With increasing age should come wisdom and tolerance, but as the saying goes, "there is no fool like an old fool" as I prove regularly!
