Glad to see this scenario back in action.

If you have the 1.4 package look in the Malta folder. There's a hi-res Battle in there plus a few other goodies that will fit the campaign.

Hi Moggy.

That goes back to the days of "Silent Wings", and C47's doing para drops, but even with the explosive value set to zero. they still blew up, when they touched zero height. That was before we had the code, so maybe a non exploding parachutist maybe possible. I only know of para frag bombs working.

Pity we never got Silent Wings working. frown

For the record, a proper Battle is already available -

John you are a nasty piece, pure and simple. This was another oblique little dig at my contributions. You know it and everyone here knows it.

You folks do realize that all this BS was missing while he was gone?

Why do you put up with it?

He hasn't actually contributed anything to the game in ages other than these divisive little sniping comments. Which put him firmly in troll territory. Seems we might need this if the moderators don't do something -

When are you going to get it Ray, what I started back in 2013 is not in competition with you, and re hash of Capt Kurt's model, with a slightly better skin. It was and alway will be a PAW Kate, under it's skin.

Mine, IS A NEW MODEL! FROM SCRATCH!! are YOU are not the only person allowed the build models! Oh, sorry you don't build from scratch, you just fix up other peoples work! What was your last fully new model?

Have some of your own medicine!

Troll!!

Got news for you.

It's not a rehash of the lo-res model.

And even if it were, there's no call for your behavior.

All I did was mention my new model, and you attack me! I could build new models of everything you have, and there isn't nothing you could do about it. You need to get a grip, and stop attacking me! You know, I find this quite funny, you were my pupil, or have you forgotten that?

John,

Who cares if I was your pupil? That is irrelevant to the conversation and carries the stench of condescension.

What is important is that not once in the time I've been active here have I ever made the comments you make on a daily basis.

If any member of the community goes through any post they will see that you start this BS with these little sniping remarks. You know what? It occurs to me that you have evolved into the new VonBeerhoven.

Now back to reality. Read the posts. In no way, shape or form did I attack your proposed Battle. Instead you took a shot at my effort by stating that when the Condor is finished you would work on a REAl Battle. This imputes my model as something less and I posted the pictures to show it is in fact a credible model.

Then you criticized it for being a mere upgrade of the PAW Kate. Which is not true. It is a highly modified version of the hi-res Hurricane.

Moggy, sorry for the hijack but unfortunately it seems this thread is where I'm going to have to plant my flag.

I'm calling for the moderators to handle this immediately. It is an embarrassment to allow this behavior to continue.

Hi guys, re: Fairey Battle, 1940...

Ray's Model

The real McCoy...

the wings are incorrect and the fuselage is off, and, the greenhouse is too long. The model is workable but to a 'nitt picking' rivet counter, it isn't quite right.

Ray, I am not attacking here or taking sides in this discussion, just expressing my own opinion.

Mogggs, quite nice. My 1940 stuff is available you know. He111, Ju88A, 109E, 110C, Ju87B, Spit I, Hurricane...just lift the first skin out of a squadron if you like.

That's fine, Mike. None of those things are deal breakers and can be easily fixed. In fact, after I finish the D510 I will do just that.

You've helped me out with many models in the same way, like the Buffalo and the Devastator. It's never been a problem and in fact it's good to have another set of eyes when model building.

VB, er, how the heck do you figure that? Check the record, I don't take pot shots at other people's work.

Ray, you know I'm a real pain in the butt about shapes/lines and curves...

I'm just thankful that there are still 2 people doing models.

I don't have much of an opinion on the method, just the outcome.

And, until you get fed up and block my emails I'll continue to do so.

Neither did I Rotton,

I merely reported factual problems based on my experience with hundreds of online pilots and the knowledge I have on EAW and programming. I've seen app. 80% of these come true.
It's too bad that people see them as 'pot shots'.
As to your own creation of SPAW, I've never mentoned that it was bad or not good. It no longer matters anyway since I've got what I was looking for, more knowledge and a nice group of people to play my game with and I'll carry on with that without having to endure personal attacks like the one above.

VB, BS!

When SPAW came out all you had to say was that it wasn't a true new scenario because we used the New Guinea terrain. Go check the record I'll wait .........................

See.

And then the entire ModSquad came down on you like a ton of bricks. In fact I think that post was the beginning of one of your banned periods.

So don't try to re-write history.

Mike, I've been working with skinners for a long time now. In general they are all rivet counters and a giant PITA. biggrin

But they're usually right so don't worry about being ignored. I'd LIKE to but I just can't.

The topic was wether you couldn't have chosen a different scenario which wouldn't have rivalled Pacific Tide III the way it did. That it was using the New Guinea addon as a base was merely a factual statement meant to bring home the point. You could have choosen a different scenario, like Midway, or whatever else is there, without stabbing me in the back.
Even if it wasn't your intention to do that it hurt and I had to point that out to you and everyone involved.

As I said before, it no longer matters to me, what's done is done and we've already had that discussion long ago. I've taken leave from this forum to not be lured into the same position again.
Just refrain from personal attacks in my absence, I'm not attacking anyone anymore if I did, and neither should you.

For the record, I didn't attack you. I said that John has become the new VB. That was in reference to divisiveness, which, if you're being honest, was one of your claims to fame. Enough so that you got banned here.

More than once.

Somehow you think we built SPAW to rival PAC TIDE III and we were stabbing you in the back. Yet there are numerous scenarios with similar themes. No one thinks that the guys built those scenarios to show up other members. To think that four guys would spend an entire year of modding to show you up is utterly ridiculous and borders on a serious case of paranoia.

Glad you're leaving.

Again.
