I recently found an old CDROM in my files with about 600 MB of EAW mods circa 2001/2002; before advancements in graphics drivers killed EAW.

But I hear that may be fixed now?

Reports of the death of EAW were much exaggerated smile

EAW went through some problems as far as compatibility with Windows versions other than Win9x. But there where workarounds provide here and there that allowed EAW to limp along through W2k and WinXP etc..

I had Win7 and EAW ran great on that in D3D with a Nvidia card (minus horizon fog) and a registry fix for the DirectDraw Menu screen color corruptions where healed. It actually was a part of Windows 7 that fixes it that just wasn't enabled by default.

In Win10 the game runs a bit slower but it is flawless, I haven't had to much time with win10 and EAW game play wise, but it seems to be alright. Using the nGlide 3dfx wrapper program will allow EAW to run faster, and the EAW 140 version with its new 3.0 Glide API (new from the 2.43api) will run even faster.

You'll want to manually install EAW however, either by downloading the 1.40 archive by contact MrJelly for a link to download the current build of it. and/Or by copying files from your CD to install v1.0 then patch to v1.2 or the FXEXE. I run 3 copys of EAW on my Hard Drive , just for the fun of it and to technical support it for testing and such.

BTW could I get your 600MB addons from that CD as a download. I'm still searching for a bunch of files and archives. I'd would greatly appreciate it, I've been trying to build a shareable archive of EAW stuff for almost a year now and had made alot of progress but not as much as I would hoped.

Thanks in advanced.

Can confirm EAW runs very well on Windows 10. Whereas I am still chugging away very happily with XP, my wife has W10 on her hi-spec machine she uses for photography work, and EAW on D3D looks stunning on it.
