There's a reason these guys are so successful.

World of Warships owns the WWII space so where does war thunder go? Sailing ships!

And it looks like fun!

I tried it, it is fun.
Maybe it is just an April 1 event, still a clever way to test out ship movement, water splash rendering, etc.

I tried it and found it nice. But hardlt a fully fledged thing. It's obviously another April's Fools. But boy I liked it.

i just wish it had a bit more sailing dynamics to it.. basically you don´t jiibe or zigzag upwind much and you can press w to forward and s for backward, but I guess for an aprils-joke that is ok..

Just had a funny night game, tried switching of the GUI and just watch it.. in between.

Its pretty lame, didn't get into it at all... Then again, the last one where they introduced a star wars type walker into a WWII setting left me pretty cold as well... but that's me, I'm sure there will be many of the boys and girls out there that will love all this stuff smile

neaner They have a history of doing April fools - remember Gaijilla?

This poll has 20% who think it was an April fools joke (even tho it started in March), 20% who think not, and 60% who think the sailing ships are the joke, but 'ships' are in the pipeline because it is too much work to just be an April 1 thing!

Oh I'm sure ships are in the works, and you are right, it's a lot of work just for a one off April fools.
But if they do release a sailing ship saga to their bowstrings, then it will still be the same old grind fest to get to the top of the tree as usual.
As for GF and the air side, I keep popping in and out of this game as it can be immense fun at times, but frustrating and loathsome at others... it's pish easy to play and doesn't tax the brain cells.

Well my English Naval Heritage did not come to the fore.
Good fun for a while though.
Tried to organise a line astern column to slice through the enemy but everyone wanted to be a privateer
