This is Off Topic but was wondering? Recently my Vid Card a Radeon 5770 series ate the big one and rather then wait for days on mail order. I picked up a XFX Radeon R7 360 Red Series Card from a store. Anyone familiar with this Vid card ? The chips seem to be the same but with more DDR as I can see the wires on my Spad most of the time. tanksalot

I have been looking at {and trying to figure out how to justify it to she who must be obeyed} new computers. lately. I have always leaned towards Intel and Nvidia. One of the places I looked specialized in AMD and Radeon. I do not currently have one so take any of my info with a grain or six million of salt.

A quick search of youtube showed a couple of vids on the R7 360. Performance wise it appears to be nearly identical to the gtx 750 ti. It looks like a very good budget gpu but may not the best for future proofing.

You already installed this Vcard, so .............
I would have more patience and get in my country the same priced GTX750ti or if wanting a AMD the R7 370. But it looks if you are happy with this R7 360 so then it is a good buy.

edit: this site I always use for a quick view: 360 vs 370
Was wrong on the GTX750ti performance btw, but still stands that the same priced 370 would be a better buy.

From TomsHardware:

Based on the same Bonaire GPU as Radeon R7 260, the Radeon R7 360 is just a bit faster thanks to a more aggressive core and GDDR5 memory clock rate. We wouldn’t expect the 360 to catch AMD’s venerable R7 260X, though, which featured a few extra shader cores and texture units.

Still, resourceful gamers should be able to coax playable frame rates from this card at 1920x1080. If you really want to play it safe, consider the Radeon R7 360 a solid bet for resolutions below FHD, such as 1680x1050.

Thanks Guys. As a budget Card it works well. The card going south caught me by surprise so didnt have time to plan and I was limited by the 650 Watt power plant. Next, upgrade or replacement ? will be the processor. cheers
