My graphics on the terrain turn blue when i move around outside tank. Have not played this game for about a year. What setting can fix this?

That is the view cone.

open the folder PE/Data/Misc. Delete all BVLXX.dat files, where XX is the view range. Example: BVL129129.DAT. The game engine will then rebuild the view cones as needed.

If it is still a problem, you will have to choose a different screen resolution. but chances are that you have BVL files created from a previous version of PEx.

Fixed it thank you, You are right. I did have a previous install and copied everything over onto the new install. It would only happen when I would set texture detail > user defined > all high instead of auto. At auto it would not happen. But deleted the blv as you said and now i can set user defined all to high with no problems.

I also turned off AA and vsync on my card for the game profile.

My m8 scott still looks like a stuart was this fixed?

No, that is a wrong 3D model that keeps being overlooked. It dates back to the original release.

Hopefully the hidden scott model is in there. Maybe the game is making a call to the stuart when it actually is suppose to call the scott. Any way to check this with the hex editor to see if it calling or labeling a wrong model?

A hex editor is not needed. If you look at the USunit.csv file, the first row is Data_Name. That entry is the name of the RRF file it will look for. It should be looking for M8HMC. If you load the M8HMC.RRF in the Desert_Obj folder into the object editor, you will see that it is a M5A1 model. The one on my HDD is dated 1999 so it is the original. If you have the original PE 1.05 you can check that model. If it is correct then you can copy it to your current install.

I dug out my Win98 box and checked PE 1.05, Patch 1.07, patch 1.08, patch 1.1 and patch 1.2. All have the M5A1 model for the M8HMC. The best I could come up with is a 3D model by John Britton that would need to be imported into the game and skinned.

Slomo is moving on from PP2x. The real world limited his hobby time and this is the season for his real world work. Slomo may complete the M3 light tanks, but we both agree that the game engine is pushed to it's limits with PP2x and Ostpak Redux. If there is someone who wants to skin the models, speak up. I could ask if he would allow another to finish these models. The latest build of the game engine does not use UV wrapping, but it can do double the texture bmps and single pixel limits for the texture sizes.
