Do you think your MOD friend could also make German mechanics, by just changing
the caps, and the texture? here is a picture how they looked:

Looks similar.

Was looking at the second picture, WW1 Tent Hanger.

Stache, that is a large tent hangar, which I think is rather French or British.

Lol!!!

Old hat - that is 'geezer's' work from first Eagles sim mods! smile

All day I was looking for a post from waaay back where I linked it - hoping someone could convert his models for use here and or for rise of flight

He had told me then he would be fine with it and I was going to let you know

Another very interesting old timer - a commercial illustrator who clearly has a fantastic eye for editing to the 'essence' of his subjects and with a passion for early flight and took up 3D modelling and modding in his retirement years if I recall - very impressive

This is brilliant - he wasn't sure if they could be ported over ... Fantastic!!! Yippee

All very exciting - great work and THANK YOU for your efforts to date

I want to learn to do some of this too to help

Regards Ron

This looks marvelous, Oldhat. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Manitouguy, thank you, I KNEW I'd seen these wonderful models before but I could not for the life of me remember where.

OldHat, it's great that Geezer has given these out to the community and that you are able to bring them into WOFF. Are you going to need a hand with painting these or are they good to go? Let me know, I may be able to lend a hand if you'd like.

This mod is awesome!!!

Coming from a real-life aircraft mechanic... I can't thank you guys enough for putting my 'heritage' into the game. We always get left behind, never get any glory and live in the shadows of all the medals and praise the single man gets for flying the machine which we keep running for him...

Long live the 'Grease Monkies' of WWI!

That looks like a fantastic mod in the works Oldhat, one I will eagerly wait for. If you need a little help with the textures just PM me.

I wonder if any such mods couldn't be made a gift to WOFF, instead of a donation?
With a full serious declaration, that the creator hands this work over to the devs,
without charging anything for it now, or in future?
Wouldn't that help a lot, to make WOFF GOLD an even bigger event?

And they could still decide wether they use this or that, or not?
Just a thought...

Truth is, whatever the game, 3D modders are such an odd occurence that whenever they appear and create models so good as these we can´t but be thankful to them. Including all these 3d stuff in our WOFF2 airfields would be ....epic.

Ed: This is clearly an exhilarating project. Hope is not long term.

Thanks for the offer and YES, I do need help from the pros. I don't know enough about textures or 3D modeling to make things look better than what they are right now. RL has caught up with me at the moment, so I'll let you guys know soon. Here is what I've been able to do so far.

Wow. This is simply amazing. I agree that when it's finished, it would be awesome if it could somehow be incorporated into WOFF in a patch - but even if not, it will be a fantastic immersion mod bringing even more life to WOFF whenever we are on the field or flying over one. Kudos to OldHat for making this happen and to everyone else lending their talents to the project. This is part of what makes WOFF so great. A community of talented individuals that works well together in a civil and productive way!

I agree with Hellshade completely. I love all the work that you modders do

This all looks really cool and will add more icing to an already very delicious cake.

Still not done, but I think the colors and models can be improved upon as well as making german counterparts. What do I need to send to those that offered to help out? Thanks.

Yes – I was thinking along this logic the other day too – there are only one or two guys that were making the main planes are the majority of plans for First Eagle's – was wondering if someone should reach out to them, and see if they would be OK with the airplane models being imported for static objects – on airfields or out in the landscape as Easter eggs or mission objectives – there are a lot of unique and well model planes but might be fun to some as scenery

I assume that bringing them into the game would be the same or similar to these objects here but not sure
