Anyone know if this amount of AA around balloons looks about right, too much or too little?

I'm not sure about how historically accurate, but it would definitely deter me from volunteering for busting missions.

All I know, is everytime I've read about a real balloon busting mission the writer has mentioned how thick the Archie was, so your mod looks about right to me. I wish flaming onions were modeled in WOFF.

Edit: I know that quite a few of my WWI books mention that balloon busting was suicidal and right now in WOFF it is anything but that. Is this mod going to make balloon busting more dangerous?

I think it looks awesome. It would certainly strike enough fear in me not to want to make more than a single pass at the balloon.

I remember back in the olden days of Red Baron 1, balloon busting missions usually end in being wounded as the very best result. There was always anti-aircraft and if you were lucky enough to avoid that, fighters had time to find you.

Ok. I think I got it to work as intended (i.e. adding more archie, thus a greater chance to get hit or damaged). Please check in the MOD thread for download. Enjoy.

OldHat, you continue to amaze me. Does this mod include increased small arms fire aswell? Balloon busting was always too easy where it should be extremely dangerous... Looking forward to try this out! Great work, Sir!

I dunnno, but this is a JSGME MOD, so it can be deactivated if you feel that the area you're patrolling didn't have this type of flak around balloons at that time. Then later, you can activate it when you feel it was historically correct.

And another (maybe) dumb question.
Does that effect all static balloons in-game all the time or just the ones designated as the target in a Balloon Busting mission?
Unsure of how this is working (have not d/l'ed yet) with the Campaign Engine.

I can't wait to try the Mod! Attacking balloons is too easy otherwise.

I second Lederhosen's remarks, this mod is really good. Way to go OldHat, you are the mod man.

I think, the 1915-1916 Time isn't too problematic, anyway. When you tweak the Workshop-Settings for AA and Ground-Fire to Judgement Day, shooting a Balloon with the Planes of that Time gets quite dangerous...
Just downloaded your Mod - looks pretty cool :-)

This mod will not work for WOFF UE, it is configured for WOFF 3.

This mod must be reconfigured for WOFF UE for it to work.

Folks;

I have a working version of the mod in JSGME installable format. I have just packaged it up and sent it off to Sandbagger for hosting on his mods Page. Watch for a note about it's availability posted in the Mods thread

Mod now tested in WOFFue in WineSkin on a Mac and it works wonderfully gents' - thanks for these many mods and continued updates. Have now updated the supported mods list for WOFFue on a Mac, in the relevant thread under the stickies section, for those running the sim on Macs. Some representative pics below of increased archie during balloon attacks, with some coming dangerously close to my Tripe. Also enjoying BuckeyeBob's latest clouds pack (ver. 2.9.x) - great stuff, particularly the low-lying fog.
